I approach him and offer my hand; he takes it, and I help him to stand on his feet.
"Thank you. If you hadn't," He exhales, shaking his head. "Whatever happened, it saved us. And you were part of it." He says, gently patting my hand.
I smile faintly. "As I said it wasn't me, it can't be me. It's the forest and its magic you should thank—or Brian's dagger."
A slow, knowing smirk spreads across Robert's face, his eyes glinting with amusement as he shifts his weight and turns to Brian. "Is your dagger magical, and you've been pretending to be ignorant all this time?" He asks, his voice filled with playful suspicion.
