Scooby Doo Jackalope Romane & Geschichten

Cafer was walking a very fine line. Today they ambled through a field that was close--but not too close-- to the elves' land. "A rabbit with horns!" Alaron exclaimed. He used a magic spell to pin the creature so he could get a closer look. "It is a jackalope," Cafer informed him as they walked over to it. "And you should probably let it go." The gnome flicked his gaze around the field. These creatures could travel in packs, and the thought of a hundred small, horned creatures running at him was undesirable.

Jack called out, his voice echoing in the gloom. "Shhh!" A massive shape detached itself from the shadows. Grog, the leader of the subterranean mutant community, loomed over Jack. He was seven feet of lumpy muscle and scarred skin, wearing a patchwork vest made of discarded neon signs and high-visibility jackets. In his massive, calloused hand, he held a delicate cream puff. "The yeast is rising, Alpha Jack," Grog whispered, gesturing with the pastry. "Loud noises make the dough sad."

"Well, I suppose it's time to get ready. Edward brought us some clothes. Said for us to look our best." Jack pulled his worn t-shirt over his head and tossed it onto the chair. Jill looked at him. His brown hair a mess, the stubble on his chin, the definition in his chest and abs. She'd always found Jack handsome. But they were best friends. As much as she'd love for it to be more than that, there is no way she could let Jack know her true feelings for him. What if he didn't feel the same way she did? Wouldn't that ruin the friendship they've been over all these years?

I asked, keeping my voice casual, though my heart rate spiked. Beside me, Liam stiffened slightly, his eyes flicking to the rearview mirror. "Yeah," Jack chuckled, finally looking up. "So you turn into... a dog?" I furrowed my brow, putting on my best confused face. "Like a Golden Retriever? Do you chase tennis balls?" Liam let out a bark of laughter, quickly turning it into a cough. Jack’s jaw dropped. He looked genuinely insulted. "Luna, I am not a dog. I am a wolf. A purebred, apex predator."

He and Caleb followed suite. “I recognise it, too.” Caleb said, a worried look in his eyes. “What is it?” Jack asked, looking from Caleb to me. I grimaced. “The witch fuckers who were experimenting on the wolves down in the tunnels…it’s their scent. One of them anyways. I ripped one of their arms off when we rescued Everest, I’d recognize the smell of that disgusting creature anywhere.” Caleb swore, running his fingers through his hair. “Do you think they’re in the same caves? Or do you think they moved their operation?” Jack asked.

Then wheelchair wheels squeaked against hardwood. Annie appeared at the top of the stairs, Jack pushing her chair onto the elevator platform. She looked about eight, with Samuel’s dark hair and sharp features, but where his eyes were cold, hers were fiery. “You must be Layla,” she said as they descended. “I’m Annie.” I smiled. “It’s nice to meet you.” “Are you a wolf like Daddy?” She leaned forward eagerly. “Can I see?” “Annie,” Jack warned. “Remember what we discussed about asking strangers to shift.”

I don't know if it's the alcohol but the man siting next to me is hot and handsome and he's radiates this power of him, I immediately know that he's a wolf and from the look in his eyes I can see that he can sense that I'm one too. “Who was your favourite character?” I ask him. “What?” He asks looking confused and for the first time today since I left Oscar, I let out a genuine chuckle. “You said you loved Scooby Doo growing up, so who was your favourite character?” I asked him. “Oh, definitely Shaggy and Scooby. What about you?” He asked me. “Never watched it.” I tell him and he looks shocked. “A childhood without Scooby Doo? How did you survive?” He asks me.

His eyes seemed to be glittering with millions of possibilities as every muscle in his body went taut, “ what-” “ These claws don’t belong to a wolf.” “ Shit” cursed Shayne as he jumped from his crouching position and took a long sniff. It was hard to differentiate the smell of the intruder when the entire room smelled of oil paints. “It's a jackal. Someone trespassed the boundary line-”

He blinked up through blurry eyes, wiping at his tears, and then— His heart stopped. A monstrous figure loomed above him. "Grahhhhhhhh!" The creature was unlike anything he had ever seen. Towering, grotesque. Three times the size of a normal wolf. Its eyes burned a hellish red, gleaming with an unnatural hunger. Claws, long and curved, glinted under the weak moonlight. Saliva dripped from jagged teeth as it growled, a sound so deep it rattled through Logan’s bones.

Heavy thuds pounded the earth as the race continued but only for a short time as Gillow closed in on the escaping wolf and grabbed him by the tail, truncating his run. The wolf stumbled, and Gillow pounced on him. Gillow returned an angrier snarl as other wolves surrounded the accosted wolf who immediately let go of his wolf, transforming into a male human. Gillow turned, returning to his human self, which caused the others to do the same. “Who are you?” he bellowed. “Why were you following us?” “Please don’t kill me.” “Speak before I rip you apart.” Gillow threatened. “I am Jack, scout of the western pack.” He grudgingly revealed.
