It was Mr. Lykaios. I couldn’t tell it from his appearance but I could clearly smell his scent. His face was covered in gray hairs as well as his chest and arms and he had hairy wolf ears. He was snarling and I saw fangs instead of teeth.

I rolled to the side, my heart racing. “Spread out!” Jake ordered. We obeyed, fanning out to surround the creature. Sophie’s arrows struck its side, but they barely seemed to faze it. Althea sent a bolt of magic at its head, and it screeched in pain, but it wasn’t enough to slow it down. “Keep its attention on me!” Jake shouted, shifting into his wolf form again. He darted around the spider, snapping at its legs and drawing its ire. I took advantage of the distraction, climbing onto one of its massive legs. The surface was slick with some kind of ichor, and I nearly lost my grip.

“Gee whizz! Come on Scooby Doo. Try harder.” I felt punching on my right shoulder. I glanced over and noticed a strange looking foot. Gray and scaly with only four spiky looking toes. “Ahh! What is this thing?” I screamed in frustration. I bent over, grasping the mysterious creature with both hands. I placed one foot on whatever body part that I could manage and with both my hands and foot I was able to wrench the thing off me.

Turn and leave.” A tall wolf the color of night with glowing yellow eyes said to them. Looking around, Chief and Scythe debated between them who should do what. In the very same moment Scythe broke left, Chief broke right, and Dove split down the middle, ducking between the 5 wolves on front of him.
