His lycan-red eyes reverted back to their natural brown, concern etched across his face. "Skye, what are you doing here?" he asked, his voice barely audible in the silent night. But Skye's attention was fixated on me. Her fear was palpable, and it brought a twisted sense of pleasure to me. I reveled in the sight of her fear, in the power I held over her.

Bear looks at Ryder again. Before he can speak, Todd interrupts. "What kind of name is 'Bear'?" he asks with a snort. "Watch your attitude," Carla says with a glare that could stop a wild animal in its tracks. "Is it because he's as large as a bear?" I ask, eyeing him with interest. "No, it's because of his cuddly disposition," Carla snaps, eyes narrowing. "He's a real teddy bear," she adds sarcastically. Her beautiful face is turned up in a sneer and it isn't so beautiful anymore.

The beast’s eyes flashed green and it growled again as it shifted a little from the light beam. This time, the sound was louder, and I caught a glimpse of the animal’s teeth as is widened its mouth.

Kate led the charge by asking me if I grew up with a pet Kangaroo, Koala or Huntsman spider. “We had a drop bear in the backyard for a few years, but other than that it was just spiders.” “Vat is drop bear?” Uncle Vin asked, looking around before Leo piped in. “It is a made up animal. These two are already trying to play us.” Leo laughed and pointed his fork at us. Dario sat back with a chuckle. His large hand going under my curls as he gave the back of my neck a squeeze.

The two men immediately crouched, making their way over in the direction that Wilbur had pointed in. Not long after, they stopped behind a huge rock as Wilbur said, "He's right in front. Get him." Ryder stuck out his head to peer ahead of him. The only thing that he could see five hundred meters ahead was a two-meter-tall Gobo, his muscles bulging as he hunched over the body of a large bear and was sucking on its blood. Gobo looked just like a feral beast at that moment, vicious and murderous. He was also impossibly powerful, able to take down a bear that weighed several tonnes. A regular human being would have been killed by such a beast on sight.

I almost died again when the next guy sang, "Booboo likes it up the ass." And the crowd came back with, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear." Um, I missed something in all my research. Joel put an arm around my shoulder and sang with everyone else. From Cindy being a grizzly bear because she never shaved her pubes to Yogi being a daddy bear because he didn't use a condom. I was laughing as much as singing.
