One witch who searched the room came back with a book she’d found hidden in a dark corner. “What do you have?” Bethany’s attention riveted onto the book in the witch’s hands. Then she moved in to see the book up close and in person. Her eyes scanned the open book. Bethany’s eyes then scanned the room, zeroing in on the objects she’d left behind to confirm this wasn’t a false clue.

Serenity looked at the books on the shelf one by one, and read each title of the book there. "This is going to take a lot more time than I originally thought." Serenity muttered, as she placed her left palm on her chin, while her right palm, she placed on the books there. She browsed through each book on the shelf now. And still, not finding a book that had the same title as the book she was previously holding and reading. "If I can't find another book, how can I find out about other information? I can't ask the elders in this pack, because it will all end up being useless. They all turned to support Alexander."

AVELORA I was excited for information, but definitely not this excited. I didn't think my search for answers would involve being trapped in here, barely able to walk, combing through the exact same set of boring books again. My thighs were still screaming, and every time I bent over to look at a lower shelf, a flash of pain shot straight up my spine. Khyrix, however, didn't seem to be looking through the books. He was searching the library itself. "Can you tell me what you are looking for?" I asked, leaning against a table.

I frowned and flipped through the books on the shelf. I was sure I kept it here. I know it was here. I searched each title and author meticulously but I still did not find it. I looked around the library and sighed. Maybe someone moved it to another aisle. Maybe the librarian moved it. I walked to the first aisle and began to search for the book. I went through the first collection of books. I combed through titles, authors, and covers. I opened old books, sneezed because of the dust they had collected, and searched all the aisles making sure not to skip one but I still did not find it.

|ASTRAEA| Frantically searching through the shelves, I ran my fingers along the books, biting my lip as if I didn’t find it. Where the heck was it? Panic threatened to overwhelm me as I bit my lip in frustration, cursing under my breath. Where could it be? I had placed it here just that day, hadn't I? My mind raced as I tried to retrace my steps, grasping at any memory that might lead me to the elusive item. But try as I might, the answer eluded me, slipping through my fingers like grains of sand.

When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

This was the end for her. I took a breath, steeling myself, and began to search. I rifled through her drawers, pulled clothes from her wardrobe, scattered trinkets and bottles across the floor in my desperation. The longer I searched, the more frantic I became. I couldn’t let myself leave this room without finding it. The book was my only clue, my only chance to understand what was happening to me. Minutes passed, maybe even hours. I wasn’t sure. The room had turned into a mess, everything thrown around in my search.

Chapter 41: The Twins It had been a week since Selene had lost the book. And it has been a week of relentless searching that led her nowhere. Every library she visited, every bookstore she scoured, and even her late-night online searches had turned up nothing. It was as if the book had vanished from existence, leaving not a single trace behind.

I jolted up and headed towards the search engine, I typed in the title and just as I had expected there was a book named like that. I cleared the history engine so that the other houses will not see. I headed towards the children section to search for the book I had found, there it was. I flipped through it and found four envelopes, I took the blue one and placed the book back. We are not supposed to take the clues of the other houses, a rule was against that.

He stared at them from top to toe. Then picked out a blue book from the inside, and started reading it. When he was done, he searched for another book. But he wasn’t able to find it out. He looked under the cupboard and then under the drawer of the table. Chris noticed that he was feeling much worked up so he asked, “Are you searching for something?”. “Uh, yes.” “What?”. “That red book with tales of mighty Robinhood on the front page.” “Oh, the one you liked the most.”
