“This is fake! You forged it!” I pulled out my phone and played two recordings. One was Lucy’s statement at the police station. The other was hospital footage of Susan’s mother, Ava, causing a scene and trying to hurt Lucas with scissors. Looking at all the evidence, Ava had nothing to say. Amy looked at me, filled with guilt. “Eason, I’m sorry. I was out of my mind. I was tempted by money.” I said coldly, “You watched over me growing up. I treated you as my family, but you turned against me. You abandoned my son on the street and attempted to freeze him to death.
