“Fuck, Isabella.” My attention went to the snake. While I’d only seen its tail, I could now follow the creature wrapped around Em’s arm over his muscular bicep and over his shoulder. The face on the front of his pectoral muscles had beady, dark black eyes. Its mouth was open, fangs visible, and tongue striking. My gaze met Em’s. “That seems more dangerous than rebirth.” He lifted my chin. “To be reborn, you must die. It’s dangerous.”

Every strike, every roar, was fueled by a fire in my chest that would not die—the vision of her slipping further from me, vanishing into this cursed place. She had run from me. Again. And still, I bled for her. The forest answered my fury with more beasts. A massive serpent, its scales black as pitch, uncoiled from the trees. Its tongue flicked, tasting our fear. Emerald swore, dodging as it struck, its fangs burying deep into the soil where we had stood. I leapt onto its back, blade plunging between its scales. It thrashed, nearly flinging me, but I clung on, dragging the steel downward until hot, dark blood spilled like tar.

Louis pointed out and I sneered. "Are you really asking me that?" I raised a brow as I stared at him. Louis shook his head and smiled bitterly "Spells don't work on you," He mumbled and I rolled my eyes. "What's more shocking is the fact that she can touch you without you feeling repulsive. No lady has ever been able to touch you since that incident. She's not only able to touch you, you even get horny at the mere sight of her, this is strange," He mumbled, he was confused too.

The great beast twisted and dug the claws of its free hand into the serpent's sides, holding it still so that it could return the favor. The crushing jaws came down hard on the much softer flesh of the serpents throat, making the thing scream and thrash violently, wrapping its long body around its adversary as if to crush it in its coils. She cowered, waiting to be crushed herself in the grip of the claws that still held her, or else be tossed once more into the sea.

My eyes were caught by the giant statue positioned in the middle of the lawn, its features obscured by the thick layer of snow. I could make out the silhouette of a woman as we drew closer, her face frozen in fear. My heart skipped a beat when I noticed the marble serpent wrapped around her waist, its sinuous form slithering threateningly towards her neck. The face of the snake was twisted into a menacing snarl, its eyes seeming to follow my every move. I recoiled, a shiver of unease rippling through my core. Why would someone build such a disturbing statue in their home? What did it even mean?

Misty Forest was a dangerous place, and I had lost my way. Even if I could somehow defeat the wolf pack, I would not be able to escape from the forest. The thought terrified me. Suddenly, a wolf lunged at me, aiming to bite my neck. Just as I closed my eyes, waiting for my impending death, I saw a flash of silver light. A snake appeared and bit the wolf! The wolf convulsed for a while before falling to the ground, dead. The rest of the wolves stared at the snake with fear, and all of them turned to run.

She’s overconfident. When she commits to her next forward movement, I step forward too but side step in a split second leveraging her own momentum, guiding her to the mat with controlled pressure against her shoulder blade. I sit on her back pinning her there effectively while she pointlessly struggles. For one suspended second, our breathing synchronizes. Her eyes flicker back at me. Not in anger but approval? "You look like a porcelain doll but fight like a snake." I release her and step back immediately creating space between us. She gets on all fours and fluidly stands up in one motion flexing her shoulder. I glare at her.

“Promise… blood… complete.” The voices called out as the serpents loosened their grip from my body. I swore it felt like they were slithering into my body from the open wound on my neck. I looked up at Emma as my body fell limp, smiling at her trying to show her I forgave her, that I loved her before the world went dark.

The girls who hadn't fainted saw what I was doing and rushed over to grab his other leg. Before he could react, Julia quickly swallowed the golden core. Then she leaped into the air and dived into the golden snake's mouth. She said, "Walter Maxwell, if you hadn't taken advantage of the Snake Goddess while she was giving birth, how could someone like you have ever stolen her golden core?" Julia merged with the golden snake in an instant. The snake let out a tremendous cry, and the golden core erupted in a blinding burst of light. None of us could keep our eyes open. The rope and the bell broke into pieces instantly.

Elysia, her gaze fixed on the Celestial Serpent's dance, mused, "Its movements... They're not just random. There's a sequence, a pattern. The same sequence we've been exploring." Liora, drifting closer to Elysia, replied, "It's the Song's physical manifestation. The Serpent moves in tandem with the realms' pulse. To resonate with it, we must understand its dance." Ezra, eyes narrowing in concentration, noted, "The dissonance — it's like a shadow, creeping around the edges, trying to disrupt the dance." Malachi, clenching his fists, said, "Then we confront it. Head-on. We become a part of this chorus, strengthen it, and drive away the discord."
