Chapter 126: Haunting Shadows Hana’s body stirred restlessly beneath the thin sheet, her breaths shallow and rapid as she fell deeper into the abyss of her nightmare. The moonlight that filtered through the window barely reached her, casting faint shadows across the room. But in her mind, the darkness was much more overwhelming—an unrelenting void filled with ghosts of her past.

* His arms shake; his whole body is trying to drag me up, little by little. But the shadow laughs at us. It's not like a real laugh, but this feeling. It vibrates in my bones, a deep, mocking feeling. And then it talks. Let her go, and I won't hurt you. No way. Soren's whole body gets tight. His grip on me gets even stronger... Never. The shadow thing moves, and now it knows Soren's name. Soren… you've always been scared of what you can't control. He gasps. I can feel his heart skip a beat.

Blades at first. Then fists. Then fire. I bled. She laughed. I fell. She moved to strike the final blow— But I reached inside her mind. Inside the link. And I whispered, “You’re not real.” She froze. “I am,” she said. “You were built from me,” I whispered. “But you never lived. Never loved. That makes you a shadow.” And I overloaded the sync. Her scream shook the earth. Then she dropped. Silent. Ash in the wind.

Evryn's heart skipped a beat, her pulse racing as the voice echoed through the stillness. It wasn’t just a whisper, it was a haunting, familiar presence that curled through her thoughts like a cold wind. The darkness around her seemed to deepen, and for a moment, she was paralyzed by the weight of the words, the very essence of the shadow’s return clinging to the air like smoke.

I decided to sleep. I left the door open. When I went to bed and lay down the door started to shut slowly. I can't believe on my eyes. So I am not seeing things. In the very next moment something pinned me to bed and I was unable to move. I heard a whisper in my ear " SOUL EXCHANGE. " My eyes widen in shock. I shake my head. That's when I heard another whisper "DALYN SOUL. " Now my heart started to beat faster. I can't do that. I can't be that selfish.

Letting as much light in as possible. I ran past them and straight towards one vampire that hadn’t burnt up and he was running for Dean. I landed on top of that vampire and as much as he tried to ward off the blows I was still snapping and going for his throat. He was trying as hard as possible and I felt something sharp on my back. The vampire that was under me started laughing and he put his guard down for a moment which gave me the chance to grab his throat and ri it clean from his neck. I then leaned back on my back two paws and I shoved myself up against the wall to get the vampire off my back, but instead we fell through a wall and into one of the bedrooms that was flooded with light.

White hot pain rips and tears through me as every bone in my body cracks, breaks and extends before jutting itself into place. Screams and howls of pain fill the air, dulled only by the trees and my own pain consuming me. Canines lengthening and claws stretching out, and yet, still I can feel my body is covered in something warm and wet. I sniff the air. Blood. So much blood. Sweet, warm, red liquid copper. Soon the pain dulls to warm rather than hot, and screams become howls and growls in the distance. I join in, yanking and pulling at the chain until my neck hurts so much I think my head might fall right off my shoulders. And then, everything goes black.

the shadows began to chant over and over again in perfect unison; like it was a mantra. After dancing round him and carolling the mantra about ten times, one of the invisible shadows dived downwards from above with a whish and hugged Harold's oesophagus with its large hands that were like small-sized hurricanes which only his neck could sense, no where else. The breezy fingers clutched his throats tighter, blocking oxygen from reaching his insides the same way it had the last time. Harold writhed and struggled weakly for his survival hundreds of metres below Golden Lake University in a spooky tunnel like a worm that had sodium chloride (salt) poured all over it. Such a fucking genius I was. She was curled up in the bed, her back to the wall, arms wrapped around herself like she was holding her own broken pieces together. She’d been through too much. I stared harder, squinting my eyes at the shadow I saw on the little green screen. The door didn’t open. Nothing made a sound when they had come in.

"You? You get a gold bar for burying a coffin. If your brother could do the job, wouldn't it be better? "You've laid to rest so many young souls, maybe it's your turn now." Mom's face twisted into something monstrous, her arms and legs jerking towards me like a puppet on strings. I sobbed and stumbled backward, "Mom, it's me, Silvia, what are you doing?" "The Haunts world is here. No one's going to make it out alive. I know how your blood calms the wind. Maybe if we drain it dry, they might spare us."
