Vickie: Dr. by day. Ghost Whisperer by night (Book 3)

Vickie: Dr. by day. Ghost Whisperer by night (Book 3)

“Shadow what?” “I mentioned it to you earlier, but you focused on the incubus. I can’t blame you,” she said with a shake of her head. “That tall shadow that you saw in your room. He’s a shadow person. They’re a kind of spirit, but they’re not at the same time. Not like the other ones. The shadow people are a malevolent race that has never lived in a human body. They’re earthlings, like us, but they come from a different dimension through portals and attach themselves to humans that they target. Mostly, they stand over them at night and stare at them, but they, sometimes, touch or hurt them too. In rare cases, you’ll find a good one, but most hate us.

Velvet and vengeance: stripped by the enemy

Velvet and vengeance: stripped by the enemy

A shiver went down my spine. I turned my head by just a fraction of an inch and there it was. One the other end of the warehouse, their silhouette creating a contrast against the large ash fan, was the shadow figure. The same robes that didn’t catch light, the same ominous stare, the same absence of a thermal signature. Whoever this person was, they had truly mastered the art of being a ghost, just as I had.

The Shadow Effect

The Shadow Effect

Obstacles that could be overcome, but how? Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“Oh come on, Z! Not that argument again. How many times should I tell you? You are not a human, okay? You’re a Shadow Wielder. You’ve been born here. That’s irrevocable!” Some of the tourists nearby stopped on their track, their eyes wide as though they’ve heard such a disgusting thing. “What?” he spat, his ears burning red. “I’m just telling the truth. Every one of us here is a Shadow Wielder. That’s what you call someone who can manipulate a shadow. Seriously, don’t you know all that?” Feeling the heat rushing up to her cheeks, Z said under her breathe, “Lower down your voice! You’re embarrassing me.”

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

he snakes his tongue in excitement as he wriggles his fingers on his handgun “No he’s not, you trigger-happy bastard. Anyways, it’s not weird. There are people blessed with the gift of controlling shadows. I believe they call themselves Shadow” “Interesting. I can’t believe such amazing people exist” he giggles Shane lights another cigarette “They are far from amazing. Back when I was a teen, I took up a job offer to kill a pregnant woman. It should be an easy job I thought but she could control Shadows” he blows out smoke

Shadows Of Deception

Shadows Of Deception

The knock came again, more insistent this time. I took a deep breath and walked over, peeking through the peephole. A figure was standing on the porch, hooded, rain pouring off their shoulders. I couldn’t make out the face. My hand trembled as I reached for the doorknob slowly.. “Who is it?” I called out, trying to keep my voice steady. There was a pause, and then a voice, a vague familiar voice, I hadn’t heard in years, a voice that sent a shiver down my spine.

Shadows of Deception

Shadows of Deception

The lights in the room seemed to fade, and the children faded around her: Everything disappeared, and she was left alone in that cold, dark room. The metallic smell of blood laced through the room, and she turned around to be surrounded by the ghost of those children. They were covered in blood. Some of their arms and legs twisted abnormally and some sustained deep wounds. She wanted to run, but she couldn’t. Her feet were glued to where she stood. They all neared her in that circle, they wanted to hurt her: They walked closer to her. Closer: Closer:

Shadow Moon

Shadow Moon

At 5'10", her presence commanded attention, but she preferred to stay unnoticed. Her dark skin glowed under the morning sun, and her eyes, a striking shade of amber, held secrets untold. She pulled her hood tighter, hoping to shield herself from the prying eyes she could already feel on her. She sighed, remembering the last town, the last school, the last narrow escape. The coven was always a step behind her, their sinister intentions cloaked in shadow but ever-present. She couldn’t afford to grow attached, couldn’t afford to make friends or enemies. But she knew this routine all too well. Blend in, keep your head down, and move on before anyone gets too close.

The Man I Once Refused

The Man I Once Refused

“Then we fight. I won’t run.” Ryan’s lips curved into a faint, approving smile. “That’s the spirit. But remember you’re not alone. I’ll be right here.” As the sun struggled to pierce the mist, figures began to emerge from the forest. The Shadowborn had returned, larger in number, their shapes more terrifying and grotesque than the night before. Limbs stretched at impossible angles, faces half formed, eyes glowing a malevolent violet. They advanced like a living tide, silent and deliberate, yet brimming with lethal intent.

My dear enemy

My dear enemy

She had to face her shadow self head-on, to confront the darkest corners of her own heart. With a deep breath, she stepped forward, towards the figure. The man followed her, his eyes glinting with a malevolent light. As they approached the figure, Maya saw that it was indeed her own shadow self. It was the embodiment of all her deepest fears and doubts, the part of her that she had been trying to keep hidden. The shadow self turned to face her, its eyes glinting with a malevolent light. Maya felt a surge of fear, but she refused to back down.
