Now, both of us are without fingerprints! The lecturer's brow creased as he looked from me to Jennifer and back again. My parents reached out, pleading with the tutor, saying, "As parents, how could we not recognize our own child? "The one sitting over there is an imposter. That's Jennifer. The real Ella is right here with us." The lecturer's expression shifted subtly. My classmates started nodding. "If even her parents say so, then the girl who's in class with us has to be the fake."

But the end of what was unclear. I searched the abyss and found nothing. Fear overwhelmed me; images started to appear one by one. Cleo, Prue, work, mum, and the last was Damian. Each disappeared as if they were smoke. Whisps filled the air and dissipated one at a time until there was only one left. The whisp from Damian floated across to me. It morphed into a guiding light as the ticking became faster. Something deep inside felt the pull; I needed to follow it. Step by step, one foot in front of another, I followed his light. It led me to a door in the middle of the abyss. The door stood solid in front of me as the whisp passed through it and disappeared.

He saw it. Of course he did. His voice turned low, dangerous, personal. “Your shadow already knows me.” My eyes opened. “My what? ” He lifted his hand and pointed behind me. I turned And gasped. My shadow wasn’t still. It reached toward him. Like a lover. Like a link. Like a memory older than life. “No,” I whispered. “No, no, no” My knees weakened. His voice brushed my ear, a whisper without sound.

Stripping off my clothes, I left them and my bag under a redwood tree, then I let Rose take over. "Let's run to our heart's content! Then we'll take a bath in the river," I said to her. Under the luminous gaze of the full moon, I felt an irresistible force surging through my being. My heart quickened with anticipation. Closing my eyes, I focused on the power within, embracing the ancient magic that coursed through my veins. It began with a tingling sensation, like a thousand tiny needles tracing patterns across my skin. My bones shifted, and a rush of euphoria washed over me as my human form started to contort.

I could believe the sight of seeing two Leos. And the physical real one is fighting like his duplicate is not somewhere else. But how? “My shadow is with you while I was fighting with them. The shadow was the Spirit Tool of the Celestial Abode. In modern terms, it would be something akin to an artificial intelligence robot. Though it was not a living being, it had a consciousness, which allowed him to converse with humans. The shadow looked at them once more and shook its head slightly while sighing, “It appears that Master must have set the designated time wrongly. Who the hell are these people? With how weak they are, how are they qualified to obtain his inheritance?”

I turned slowly to look at Faith—the real Faith—who was still standing near the window, her expression unreadable. “What the hell was that?” I asked finally, my voice barely above a whisper. Faith didn’t answer right away. Her gaze was fixed on the door, as if she could still see the impostor walking away. Then she looked at me, her glowing eyes serious. “That,” she said slowly, “was my fake twin.” I frowned, confused. “Your fake twin?” Faith nodded. “She’s not human, Sofia. She’s a shadow spirit. She copies the appearance of people to get close to their targets. She must have been sent here by someone.”
