023 •DARK KNIGHT PACK• It was still early in the Dark Knight pack but the weather wasn't as bright as other morning, since the morning sun seems to be hiding, as if it was refusing to show itself. Kenziel was in his study, as usual, going through some ancient book, not minding Alexxander and Herzl's presence. The two men stared at him as if to pierce his skin with imaginary laser in their eyes, but Kenziel didn't bulge.

Limbs too long. Spine bent in a way that didn't look natural. Its face was caught between shapes – half-muzzle, half-human, stretched into something unnatural. And the eyes – even in ink, they looked like they glowed. "The Shadow," Mara said quietly. "Or something like him."

The book at my hip pulsed faintly, reacting to the danger. I placed my palms against it, and a soft white glow radiated outward, forcing the shadow back.
