One could tell it was dangerous. Suddenly two shadows emerged from the dark five steps from where she stood. She step back watching the two shadows cautiously. "No!" One of the shadows cried. Its voice covered with fear. The other shadow took out something that looks like a gun and pointed it at the other one. "This is my parting gift for you." The shadow whispered before pulling the trigger. A loud bang echoed in the whole place, taking away the stillness of the night.

"Mn." With a nod, James started to shoot, clearing his path of escape, while Shadow hid behind a building, shooting the men efficiently. Because of the sudden shooting, everyone hid in their hideout, causing them to lose track of each other. When the sound of the firing guns silenced, Shadow slowly peeped out of her hideout, trying to observe the situation. Dead bodies of the bodyguards were lying on the ground, covered in blood. "Such trash!" She clicked her tongue before loading her gun with bullets.

Davide growled, pressing the blade into my throat. I used my right palm to put pressure on my bleeding arm, gripping the gambler’s knife with my left. If Davide thinks a simple cut will render me a helpless prey, he’s fucking wrong. I was already calculating my next move, but my brain stopped working when Shadow Guy stepped out, revealing himself. Holding a knife in both hands, his honey-glazed eyes met mine. “You!” “You…” Davide and I murmured at the same time. His tone was rather angered, while mine was filled with surprise and disbelief.

We both nodded, and after counting to three, we both jumped in a synchronized way to the place of the respective shadows. As I was falling, I could see a guy in a black robe with his face covered carrying a submachine gun. Seeing me, I could see his reaction of surprise, but in that split second, I unleashed a burst of shots against his chest. The man fell while I turned and positioned myself behind him while holding his body to use it as a shield.

Face was covered in blood from wiping away the stains of hair that fell in my face and the sweat because it felt like a damn workout. After all it was normal for the hunters to have silver bullet carrying guns. But there was something else going on here. Some sinister plan and the hooded man was the master planner.
