While moving through the dangerous tunnels, the shadows' whispers became increasingly louder and more urgent, as if attempting to draw them back. Xander strengthened his hold on his sword, staying vigilant. Just as they neared the exit, a sinister, menacing laughter reverberated through the tunnels, causing a chill to run down his back. The shadowy figure's voice taunted, "I am inescapable," as its presence intensified. I am in control of the Whispering Shadows. Xander whirled around, feeling his heart race as the dark figure appeared in front of them, its shape appearing even more threatening. Dark energy surrounded it crackling, while its eyes emitted a malevolent glow.

And his voice, when he spoke, was little more than a whisper that seemed to crawl beneath their skin. “The Shadow watches.” Then—smoke. He dissolved into it, vanishing before any blade could reach him. The silence left behind was suffocating. Zaria’s chest rose and fell, her power still crackling uncontrolled. Fear curled cold in her belly. Because that whisper wasn’t just a threat. It was a promise.

It takes a few moments, until I am able to push away from it with a grunt, summoning the shadowed portal. As it slowly forms I hear the shadows whispers grow louder, beckoning for me. The whispers of the endless fill my head, call to my despair, and I am absolutely taken. The tendrils of shadows emerge for I am too weak to even walk through, clutching at my chest as if I could pinpoint the seed of desolation that grows within me. With the touch of shadow, it combines and loosens me, providing me with a brief notion of relief- I close my eyes at the finality, the kiss of death.
