David made a face of disbelief. "Her name is Shin. Its black limbs stilled slightly, eyes flickering with something faintly like recognition—or hope. He understood that there were as many as Seven Shifter Clans. Yet Brandon was hard pressed to guess what Clan existed where or what those Clans were called.

From what the NIRL knew, the fisheri species were masters at camouflage and took shapeshifting to another level. His kind—the Nukharang—had excellent shapeshifting abilities, which took years of training and needed technological assistance. An implanted device in his shoulder allowed for shape adaption—his current human form.

My advice: if you see your brother in these woods, or perhaps a familiar face, do not approach. Turn around, and pray like hell there aren’t more hiding nearby, or be ready for one hell of a fight.’

Working out six hours a day, every day, and working on an eight-hour shift every night, took it's toll on him very quickly. Ever since a colleague of his suggested enhancers to boost his energy, he was able to add more hours at the gym and more hours on his shifts, and could still hang out at bars afterward.
