Leah stood beneath it for a moment and let that small fact steady her before turning to the shelf. It leaned because one bracket had loosened near the wall. Not broken. Not collapsed. Only tired of holding weight at the wrong angle. That felt too familiar. Peter brought tools after Mrs. Turner sent for them. He hovered near the door until Leah looked at him. “I can do it, madam.”
