On the one thousand and ninety-fourth day of being Mrs. Harris, I asked James Harris for a divorce. His face showed a hint of confusion, but it quickly shifted to his usual, composed expression. "As you wish," he said, his tone as flat as if we were discussing whether to replace the milk on the breakfast table. He did not even bother to ask why. On the one thousand and ninety-fifth day, I gently saw him and the children off, acting as if nothing had happened, and then completely left the Harris family behind.

The day I was gathering her ashes, the message stone in my room suddenly lit up, and a projection flickered out of it: Caelum, as he had been five years ago. His eyes were full of joy and anticipation, and his voice was so gentle it almost made me believe time had folded back on itself. “Sweetheart, is it a boy or a girl? Did our child inherit my power?” In the projection his expression shifted, and the smile froze on his face. That was when the door of my room was pushed open, and the present-day Caelum, five years older than the man in the stone, strode inside. I turned the message stone around so the Caelum from five years ago could see Nia’s urn with his own eyes. “It’s a girl,” I said. “But she didn’t live long enough to inherit your power. She was burned to ash.”

He still was unsure why, but all he knew was that it pained him to be away from her. Now holding her so close as she clung to life he found himself afrai the snow cover ground in front of me. “Why me?” The petite girl tilted her head sideways to gaze at the concrete wall that suddenly looked quite interesting whilst steadying her erratic breath but within seconds her body roughly flew to the other side of the cave with a harsh thud knocking everything out of. Blood splashed from her mouth in immense amount. Her unsteady blurry gaze shifted at the intruder and what she saw made her heart tighten in terror. There and than she knew she was a goner.
