I lost my appetite; he cooked with at woman and expected me to smile as if nothing was wrong. “I will have a shower, I might eat later though, I am not hungry now.” He nodded, I turned to leave with a heavy heart. Maybe it was my destiny, that my happiness would only last for a short while then misery would follow. Just as it did with my ex-husband. Maybe my happiness was not meant to last.

Life had a strange way of circling back. Back when I was with Vanessa, I thought I had found the happiness of my life. And for a while, we truly had been happy. I just never expected that happiness to be so brief. Brief enough to disappear in a moment of hesitation. From the moment Tyler appeared, happiness had turned into misfortune. When I came back to myself, Lily was already packing the luggage we would take when we left. I smiled and asked, “Isn’t it a little early? We still have a whole day.”

For a long time neither of them spoke. They didn't need to. The answer was sitting right in front of them. A year earlier they had been fighting for survival. Now they were planning vacations. Attending school events. Hosting family dinners. Arguing about movie choices. Living. Really living. As the night grew darker, Sophia found herself smiling. Not because everything was perfect. Because she finally understood something. Happiness wasn't the absence of problems. It was the presence of peace despite them. And peace had finally found its way home.

After everything life throws at us and all the obstacles we needed to face, w all deserve a little piece of happiness, it might be love, money, a big house in the countryside, or a beautiful beach house that hosts parties with girls walking around in their tiny bikinis, but at the end of the day happiness is where our heart is. As for me. Well I’ve married the most handsome man on this earth, with a heart of gold but nerves of steel, we are welcoming our second baby girl into the world soon. We moved back to New York and thanks to Chad I kept my job as editor in Chief of the magazine which moved with me to New York. J.J.G is now our partner and Rosanna is a dear friend of mine. I turned back to look at them again and again as I walked away. For a brief moment, it felt as if I could see the Wendy of my past life standing among the crowd, waving at me. Her lips moved, as though she were saying something. "This time, make sure you find true happiness!" I nodded silently to myself. I knew I would.

Chris’ blind date wasn’t that good, but he did find someone he liked and maybe they will have a good future too. After the wedding, everyone went to their respective houses. Ashley and Vincent finally were happy forever. They made love and hoped for a new happiness in their love soon. Lara and Victor were also extremely happy with their lives.
