It was always cold here. I quickly turned on the heater and sighed in relief. I hit the car at high speed as I watched the road pass by. I was in my pack’s territory. My Saturn pack was the neighboring pack of the twilight pack so it didn’t take me long enough to reach my destination. The SATAN VILLA of alpha GERALD FOREST.

On a planetary scale. Lina let out a small, pained whimper and pointed at the base of the monolith. There, partially buried in the loam, was a skeleton. It was large, reptilian, with a long neck and a formidable skull. It was not a creature from any record I knew. And it was not just dead. Its bones were translucent, crystalline, as if their very essence had been rewritten. "This is what's wrong," Lina whispered, her voice trembling. "The song stops here. It can't get through." She looked at me, her eyes wide with a new, chilling fear. "It's not a wall, Mama."

I brandished the bone saw so the skeleton could see it, then began to lower it. “Which one should I start with?” I said, gliding it along the skeleton’s ribs. “Your arm? Or maybe I should go big and start with a leg.” The skeleton squirmed beneath me, but I was far stronger. Skeletons were the lowest form of the undead; without muscle or flesh, they were incredibly weak compared to most other supernatural beings. Becoming an undead skeleton was a punishment brought about by angering a witch, not a blessing of eternal life like a vampi

There was a dragon tattooed down his whole back. Looked so lifelike. I was half expecting it to start moving. My eyes trailed further down to his lower back, where the letters S.I.X were inscribed. So wait six isn't actually a number, but an acronym? He turned slightly, enough for me to get a view of his front, but not for him to see me standing there.

Declan stands motionless by the floor-to-ceiling window, the neon glow of the city bleeding across the hardwood like liquid gold, painting his silhouette in flickering light. His shirt hangs loose, the fabric clinging to the damp heat of his skin, sleeves pushed up to reveal the corded muscle of his forearms. The faintest sheen of sweat glistens along his collarbone, catching the light as his chest rises and falls with controlled restraint. His jaw is set, a muscle ticking beneath the stubble, his shoulders taut with something raw and unspoken. I can see the pulse hammering at the base of his throat, the way his fingers flex at his sides, as if fighting the urge to reach for me.

If you cannot eat the nut... you eat the soil around it." The Skeleton walked to the ventilation shaft. He sniffed the air drifting down from D.C. "The boy is safe. But his garden..." The Skeleton smiled. His teeth were needles. "The garden is soft." He reached into his rags and pulled out a handful of dust. It wasn't gray dust. It was red.

Everything turned dark and silent. *********
