Above the trees, I draw a vast, open sky, the centerpiece of my vision, a luminous full moon. The moon is large and radiant, casting a silvery glow over the entire scene. Its light reflects off a serene lake nestled between the trees, creating a shimmering path across the water. Gentle ripples in the lake add a sense of movement, as if the night itself is breathing.

Closing his eyes, he pushed his hands through his curly black hair that he wore to just above his shoulders. His hand flew over the page as he remembered the details and when he took his hand away and stared at the sketch he gave a small smile. He had caught the sensation like it had been in the dream. Staring seductively out of the page was a nymph with slightly pointed ears that peeked through the wavy tresses. The smallest mischievous smile graced the face that was slightly lowered so she looked through her lashes. Water toned her bare skin ivory silver. Her hands rested on the water, fingertips playing on the surface. Though it was just a sketch he could remember the colors vividly.

The throwing stopped completely. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Noah turn his head. He looked at me, then at the massive pad of paper in my lap. I kept sketching, my hand flying across the page as I outlined a massive, whimsical treehouse with spiral staircases and a slide that dipped into a glowing pond. It was the kind of architecture that didn't care about budgets or reality. Slowly—so slowly it felt like watching a turtle cross a road—Noah crawled over.
