Alexa and the Badboy
Laughter, shouts, the clatter of pool balls, music grinding from a jukebox in the corner.
Inside, the space was wide but dim, lit by neon signs and low-hanging lamps. The floor was worn concrete, scuffed and stained.
To my right stretched a long wooden bar, its surface nicked and dented, sticky in spots from years of spilled drinks. Behind it, shelves sagged under the weight of bottles, most of them whiskey and beer. To my left, a pair of leather couches faced each other across a battered coffee table, cushions torn but still occupied.
