Every instinct screams at me to turn back to the safety of the bridge. The canopies of the remaining pods suddenly open, exposing my companions still in hibernation, utterly unaware of the impending danger. The monitors have either malfunctioned, or this is a safety device. I force myself not to panic as my breathing becomes labored from the lack of oxygen. I have almost reached Beth. She stares up at me, and I can see relief in her eyes. There is no time to consider the consequences. I rip out her tubes and remove the restraints. Globular clusters of blood and fluid float upward to the widening fracture and disappear. Beth stretches out a hand, “Skye, help me,” she whispers.

As they stepped into the cool, damp air of the night, the rain had transformed into a light drizzle, misting the surroundings in a haze. The world outside felt lush and alive, yet ominous with an undercurrent of uncertainty. George led the way, Elora and Maya close behind, each step bringing them closer to a sanctuary that felt both like a refuge and a line crossed. "Stay close," George advised, casting a watchful glance over his shoulder. "We don't know who might be watching."

His heavy breathing brushed over my neck, telling me he was enjoying it as much as I was. “I need more,” he said with a raspy, strangled voice. “More?” I questioned, my brain muddled with ecstasy. “More. I watched him stare at my body, running his hands over the curves before dropping a kiss to one nipple, then the other.

"We've all pored over your papers. Working with you is truly an honor for us." The seasoned leader greeted us with a warm smile. "Meet Sunny Kane, your junior colleague. She's now an integral part of our research team." I took a moment to really look at the girl with the infectious smile. Her slightly oversized white lab coat could not mask the vibrant energy she radiated. I said offhandedly, "You seem pretty familiar with me." Sunny's smile did not waver, and her presence was instantly comforting. "The leader often talks about you. He says you're the most gifted student he's ever had."

Jaelen watched Azxel bend forward, his palms flat to the floor, his ass lifted high up then flicked his gaze to Sky. “So,” Jaelen said casually, “when are you letting him go back to his normal hair? Or blonde, even. This color’s… weird.” Sky threw his head back and laughed out loud, genuine, delighted. He licked his lower lip slowly, his eyes gleaming. “Why don’t you ask the love?” Sky murmured, referring to Azxel. He leaned toward Jaelen, his voice low and teasing. Then, softer, he smirked “Or… why not join us?”

Her voice announced their presence as he took his gaze off the screen. "Research," he replied, fixing his gaze back on the screen. Audrey narrowed her brow. "You are researching hot guys. Are you planning to turn into a hot guy because Ixora rejected you?" Audrey asked. Skye flickered her forehead. "Stop spewing trash." Audrey shrugged. "Just saying," she sat on the table. "Blake, what exactly are you searching for?" Skye asked. "A person who has the scent of obsidian veil," he replied.

Since we weren’t wearing any of our water gears, I can safely assume that it doesn’t involve swimming. Hopefully. Skyr fished something out of his pocket. It looked like a short metallic pen with a red button at the tip of it. He pressed it once and it started glowing. “Alright. I think it is safe to talk now.” He says. The others seemed confused while Byron and I exchanged glances. It would seem that we have the same idea of what Skyr was trying to do. “Talk? General, if it is just that then we could have talked back in Atlantis.” Gray said.

She had been watching the sky squint-eyed to prevent thorns from invading her eye as she gaped into the sky. Her face reduced to a frown on not being able to spot the Moon Goddess. The soothing rays were coming through her but the full Moon Goddess was visible in the sky in the form of cracks because of the never-ending branches that the tree just invented and spread across, hampering Skyla to see the Moon Goddess. As she couldn't see the full moon, Skyla got her gaze back at the man's chest.

Sky knelt, telling Max she couldn't forgive him for his actions, that she lost her first and second mate and now her children because of him, and that he wouldn't escape easily.
