I wrote the first chapter in November. Not the beginning of the story. That was where I had started with the speeches, the Vegas chapel, the blue dress. But for the book I started somewhere different. I started with the first morning in the hospital, the shaking in the car, the way the ceiling of our bedroom had been the wrong ceiling for four seconds that had been the worst seconds of my life. I started with after. It was harder than the speeches.

Chapter 1: The Arrival As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the dusty road, a weary traveler approached the outskirts of a mysterious city cloaked in mist. The city seemed to materialize out of thin air, its spires reaching towards the heavens like fingers grasping at the sky. Curiosity mingled with apprehension as the traveler made his way through the imposing gates, their iron bars creaking ominously in the evening breeze. He could sense an air of mystery hanging over the city, like a shroud of secrets waiting to be unraveled.

Fake marriage is chapter 1...there was a little mix-up Chapter 2: Alice's POV The midday sun cast a brilliant glare over the city, bouncing off the towering glass buildings as our sleek black SUV navigated through the bustling streets toward the restaurant. I leaned back in my seat, fingers tapping restlessly against the door handle as my mind wandered back to the stranger from the airport. I couldn’t believe I'd actually considered speaking to him, let alone involving him in my half-baked plan.

Happy reading :) There are many more chapters to come! ------------------------------------------------------ Chapter Eighty Five Michael’s Point of View I stood in an alleyway, not even hidden, but this was a bad part of town. Even in broad daylight something terrible could happen in front of witnesses and no one cared enough to help, call the police or ev

For the next Chapter 18- woven in for more atmosphere and Rafa’s presence. --- Chapter 18 — The Man in the Ashes Snow fell in slow spirals, muting the sounds of the wounded. The valley that had been a battlefield at dawn was now a graveyard of smoldering iron and blackened pitch. Horses stood trembling, steam curling from their flanks, and the air reeked of burnt metal and something older, fouler—like the breath of a sealed crypt forced open after centuries.

"Not be told about it after the fact." She ate in silence for a moment. "The approach," she said slowly. "The whole first chapter." "Then the arrival opens the second." She set her fork down and looked at the middle distance for a moment. "That changes the pacing of the first fifty pages," she said. "Does it change it wrong or right." She thought about it honestly. "Right," she said. "It makes the arrival land harder." "Then it's right." She picked her fork back up. "You've never written a novel," she said.

Chapter One I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. The first thing that hit me was the taste - bitter bile that coated my tongue like acid. I tried to swallow, but my throat was sore, and the Dry feeling on my tongue intensified. As I struggled to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to lie down back. That's when I heard the beeping. A steady heartbeat that echoed through the length of my body reminded me that I was alive. I didn't feel that way though, I felt like I'd been run over by a truck.
