“I’m sorry, little princess.” Delian gingerly caressed Althaea’s plump cheeks as she snuggled with a blue monster plush, drifting through a dream-filled sleep. “Don’t worry, she has no idea,” Danae spoke from behind him, her approaching steps light to not wake her daughter. “But she was upset that her Prince Charming had to leave early. She even threatened him that she was going to sleep forever like Sleeping Beauty until he came back.” Danae giggled at the memory. “So what happened back there, Del?”

Sitting back in the chair next to Aurora’s bed he stroked a stray curl from her face, ‘You, my Sleeping Beauty, have a lot of work to do when you wake, there will be no more freedom for you, on Saturday night it is the Blood Moon and I will seal our Mate Bond once and for all in front of my Pack whether you like it or not. Then I am going to take you to our room and paint your pretty ass a very deep shade of red, there will be no more disobeying me my little Luna. There were times when I felt like my heart either stopped altogether or that it was beating so hard that it was going to rip itself right out of my chest. All of the thinking wore me out, and I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up to Prince Charming’s kiss on my lips. “Rise and shine, Sleeping Beauty,” Xavier said, smiling down on me. He pulled the large book that I had hugged to my body right before I went to sleep. “Have you been doing homework?” “Maybe. I have to find a way to keep you guys excited. I don’t want you attending any other auctions and finding yourself a new woman.”

I'd hurt her too much to be her fairytale prince to plant her the wake up kiss. I whispered into mother's ears, "Mother, that story you told me about Sleeping Beauty when I was a kid, any resemblance with the case we have on ground?" Mother pressed me a puzzled look. "Really? Sleepy Beauty and Iris? Shoot me, Gustav." "Well, I was only thinking," I shrugged. "There seem to be quite some similarities between the fairytale and Iris'... tale." "That's fiction, boy. Grow up." Mother sank herself into the cushion facing the bed.

The exhaustion from the tumultuous evening finally caught up with me, and I drifted into a deep sleep. My dreams carried me to a serene garden under a blanket of stars, the night air cool and refreshing. I wandered through the blooming flowers, their sweet scent calming my troubled mind. Suddenly, the peaceful silence was interrupted by the appearance of the Lycan King. He seemed almost ethereal, yet solid and real. "Care to dance, young daughter of Silverclaw?" He extended his hand to me, a silent invitation. I hesitated but found myself accepting. His touch was electric, sending shivers down my spine.

Her blonde hair sitting against her small face, I knew that she was no threat and my secret remained secret to me based on her little smile. Meeting her green eyes, I gave her a small smile in return. "Sorry, I was completely knocked out. How long have I been sleeping for?" She stepped closer to me and brushed my apology off with her hand. “Her majesty slept through the night as any normal werewolf would have. I just wanted to know if you'd like some breakfast. Sir Ron and the King reminded me to check on you, my Queen.” “Remind me, where is Ron and Seven?”

He gave Saber a surprised look, to find the other man was grinning. “Come on,” Saber said. “Let’s get Sleeping Beauty home to her bed.” “I’s not Sleeping Beauty! I don’t want to sleep for a hundred years, then be awakened with a kiss! Could you imagine that morning breath?” Gomez grinned. “Oh, I’m sorry. Who are you then?” Saber asked in a serious voice. “I’s Belle. I tame monsters.” “You certainly do,” Saber told her, staring at her like he’d never seen her before. “The monster-tamer.”

After dinner, I joined Thomas on the back porch as our parents talked in the living room. "What happened to you at the lake? You suddenly disappeared." "Oh. I just decided to take a walk home." "By yourself?" "I just wanted some alone time." "Well I'm glad you're okay." "I actually want to talk to you about something." "What is it?" "I know that there is something..strange going on." "What do you mean?" "I'm talking about the beast." Thomas's expression turned serious. "Oh. That." "What is it?" "Things have changed since you left."
