It’s cold, powdery, and sometimes fluffy, too.” At this point, a feverish and ghastly smile appeared on Ishida’s face. “Rhina, my friend, you know nothing about snow! Snow is the most malicious substance that has ever touched the face of this planet. It has scorched the land, burned down many houses, poisoned countless wells, and rendered the land that it touched impossible to plant crops in. You see, when an industrial mountain is full of factories, those factories release deadly chemicals, smoke, and fumes from their smokestacks into the air.”

*Winter* The car murmured as it glided over the snow-covered roads, a muted contrast to the vibrant chaos of my emotions. I stared out the window, the landscape blurring into a surreal painting of white and muted colors. The snowflakes danced like tiny fairies, swirling and twirling in an intricate ballet around the windshield. I wondered fleetingly if I was still dreaming, my mind teetering on the edge between reality and something far more magical. They kill us when they can—yes. But they leave the ashes untouched. Because they know what vampire ashes mean. They only move ashes when they're trying to cover up the scene for the pathetic humans.

Chapter 25 – Ashes in the Snow The courtyard reeked of iron and smoke. Blood blackened the snow in great swathes, trampled into mud beneath the chaos of bodies. The clash of steel had ended, but the silence that followed was worse—raw, ragged, carrying the weight of every cry that would never rise again.

my mothers words scream at me inside my head. I look around at the people around me, some of the faces i recognize from over the years. It rolled down the hillside, disappearing into the beach which was only a short stroll down the mountainside if one took a more direct route than the winding drive. “Well, what do you think?” Rome asked, leaning over and taking her hand. “Do you like it?” Streaks of pink and red lit the sky now, changing the color of the house from white to a soft rose tone. “It’s beautiful,” Ella confirmed. Her hand went to the handle of the SUV to push the door open, but Rome reached out and stopped her. “Let me just walk around quickly and make sure there’s no one here.”

He kneels in front of me, and begins to wrap a snow suit around me. "Where are we going?" I ask. "You'll see soon enough." He replies, mysterious as ever. Xavier picks me up, and carries me to the front door. When he opens it, my mouth instantly drops. When I look out the cabin, the sky is on fire. Beautiful and colourful lights are dancing in the sky. "Oh my God!" I scream out in joy. "Major! This is incredible!" The ground is covered in a sparkling white, the silhouette of the trees can be seen against the colourful sky.

she asked. “Well…” Remus looked at Cassian who sucked on the treat and he looked back at her. “I don’t want to assume that you…What is the word again?” he thought, looking for the right word. “They are bloodsicles,” Cassian said and Julianne turned her head to him, thinking he said that wrong, but he said again, “They are frozen blood treats.” Julianne blinked and swallowed again. She watched them both suck on it like it was a normal popsicle. It made her wonder what kind of blood was used to make it.

Tony had been so deep in grief he never saw what had been coming. Once it was just him and me with the other two toasting up nicely in my local crematorium. I watched as he ate the last of his cousin, sipping on the rat poison I mixed into his wine that had hints of Antifreeze. Antifreeze I had slowly begun to give him over the course of 3 weeks. Sophia wailed, her cries echoing through the cemetery. She lunged forward, her hands clawing at the ashes as they scattered. The gray powder clung to her hair and skin, mixing with her tears as she wept uncontrollably. She pressed her head to the ground, her body trembling with sorrow. "My baby," she sobbed, her voice barely audible. "I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry…"
