Lunar Lake
“All of you. You want to be Lunar Lake? You earn it. Out here, today, now.”
I gestured toward my warriors waiting on the edge of the field. “Pair with them. Fight until you can’t stand. Get back up anyway. If you stay down, you’re done. You’re not ours.”
A murmur rippled through the group, fear mixing with determination. I let it hang before I leaned in, my voice dropping to a growl they all heard.
“You were Jaxson’s pawns. Today you decide if you’ll be my soldiers.”
Then I stepped back, folding my arms, watching them scramble into place. The test had begun.
