Si King ang bampirang itatangi niya at suwerteng katugon ng kanyang damdamin. Nagmamahalan silang dalawa at maraming pangako sa isa't isa nang nasa wastong edad na. Pero ang pangako na 'yon ay mabibigo dahil ang lalaking minamahal niya ay pinatay. Katumbas ng kamatayan nito ang kanyang kalayaan na kahit kailan ay hindi niya hinahangad. Pinatay raw si King ng isang organisasyon ng mga bampira. Kung ano man ang dahilan, hindi niya 'yon masasagot kung isa lamang siyang tao at isang alipin. Sa paglaya niya sa lugar ng mga bampira, binago niya ang sarili at naging isang kilalang Vampire Hunter.
