Mr. President Has A Baby Bump
My vision blurred.
“Hey,” I said softly, forcing a smile he couldn’t see. “It’s me… your annoying husband or boyfriend whichever version you’re tolerating today. You know, the guy who never listens.”
The words came out shaky, half a laugh and half a sob.
I reached for his hand, and when my fingers touched his skin warm but lifeless the tears I’d been holding back finally broke free.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered. “I’m so damn sorry.”
Everything I had done, every person I’d fought, every sacrifice I’d made it still wasn’t enough. And now, someone somewhere thought they had the right to take him away from me.
