Triple Temptation
The ultraviolet radiation burned her skin, the scent of singed hair and ozone filling her nostrils, but she didn't let go.
"Look at me, Ash!" she screamed into the violet glass of his eyes. "I know you're in there! I know you can hear the Tree screaming! You gave your soul to save me—don't let him use your body to kill everyone else!"
The Shadow-Ash paused. For a fraction of a second, the violet veins on his face pulsed with a rhythmic, grey light—the color of Ash’s true spirit. A shudder went through the obsidian armor, and the talons buried in the Tree's bark flexed, nearly pulling away.
