“Thank you, Luna Olivia.” I scooped the food into my mouth without blowing the soup. The heat burned my tongue, but I couldn’t care about it since the heavy weight of Olivia and Herta’s gaze took my full attention. Swallowing the food turned harder as they stayed silent and only observed me as if I was experimental. “Actually, there is a poison in the soup.” Herta finally opened her mouth. “It will kill you in five minutes.” My hand stopped mid-air. My pupils grew wider and my mouth was left open. I looked down at the soup and gulped hard. My heart raced so hard that I almost forgot how to breathe, but I managed to stay calm despite the rising panic.

Isabella watched as Elena took a few mouthfuls of the soup, and her hands clenched on her skirt tightly. Elena barely had time to process the growing heaviness in her limbs before her vision blurred. The spoon slipped from her fingers, clattering softly against the bowl. A wave of dizziness crashed over her and she fell into a slumber. Unbeknownst to her, the knockout drug had never been in the soup. It was in the rim of the bowl. “Alright, let’s see if you’re still so brave after I burn your tongue and throat with this hot soup.” Her expression immediately shifted to one of fear. I leaned in and whispered, “This soup will keep you awake, but that’s not its real purpose. Its true aim is to destroy your uterus. Once you drink it, you’ll never be able to have children. Ever. Sound familiar?” Her eyes widened in horror, exactly the reaction Aislinn had instructed me to provoke. Britney tried to keep her mouth closed as I approached, but I forced it open and poured the soup down her throat.

I liked this new Katalina, but she was too stimulating. She just giggled and removed the frying pan from the burner. “What are you cooking?" I cleared my throat and asked. She opened the pot boiling on a second stove and I saw sliced white fish, and lots of ingredients. “Chinese clear soup, dry eggs, stir-fried sausages with veggies, gravy, and sourdough. I heard the soup is good for your libido." After explaining, she covered the pot and gave me a seductive smile. “I want to make sure your libido is never lacking, Daddy."

Lena woke with a splitting headache. Morning light slipped through the curtains and landed straight across her face. She groaned and dragged the blanket over her head. Her head throbbed and her mouth felt dry. “You’re awake.” Evelyn’s voice came from somewhere too close. Lena cracked one eye open. Evelyn sat on the edge of the bed with a bowl of soup in her hands. Steam curled from the top. Lena squinted. “When did you learn to make soup?”

His eyes focused towards the steamy hangover soup in front of him. It was a substance that he’d never seen before, a clear soup, with some dark greens floating above the surface. At a glance, it doesn’t look that delicious at all, but he could’ve sworn that soup fumed the most delicious smell he’d ever smell before, like the smell of the sea. "Well..." He looked around for one last time to see whether there were anyone other than him in this house, before mindlessly digging in. Not far from where Ricky sat as he inhaled the food, at the upper cabinet, a pair of eyes watched him intently as he savored the soup, while also letting out a delightful moan upon biting the fluffy rolled eggs.

Instead, I said flatly, "Your eyes will get better." How could they not when she was never blind to begin with? Evelyn paused, then let out a soft sigh. "Maybe, but I don't want to drag you down." Then, she slipped back into her usual self, playfully saying, "I want some shrimp, Matt." I took out a box of yesterday's leftover spicy shrimp from the fridge. Evelyn couldn't actually handle spicy food. Even a little spice would leave her stomach hurting and make her break out in a sweat. But she liked spicy shrimp.

“Come on, we’ve got to get you cleaned up.” It felt unbelievable good to have a shower. To feel the cold water running along my back, down my butt and even over my aching legs. I almost cried. I was robbed of so many things being locked in that hellhole. Thomas didn’t know, but I wasn’t able to make out every colour, most things seemed a blur, others were fragments or black and white. It’s said that after a while many things lost function of certain organs when they weren’t in use. Most fishes in the darkness couldn’t see, maybe I was slowly going blind, having seen nothing but complete darkness for longer than I cared to remember.

"Let's go downstairs and watch some TV." Bonnie frowned, "uhh, are you mocking me or something?" She asked Lorenzo mentally face palmed, "No-umm-I mean, I have a blindfold-" Bonnie giggled, "So you want to go downstairs and watch TV with me, a blind girl while wearing a blindfold?" Lorenzo cleared his throat, "Yes." He firmly said, raising his chin up. Bonnie only shrugged, "Alright." They went downstairs and sat on the huge leather couch. Lorenzo switched on the TV and handed the blindfold to Bonnie. "Care to help?" She smiled and took the blindfold from him. Bonnie put the blindfold over his eyes and he turned around making it easier for Bonnie to tie it.
