SOPHIA'S POV The wolves rescue camp stretched across a clearing carved out of the thick forest, a blend of makeshift structures and canvas tents nestled among towering pines. The scent of pinewood mingled with smoke from scattered campfires, and the low murmur of voices hung about through the crisp evening air. Somewhere nearby, I could have sworn I heard the sound of a child laugh, but that can only be a figment of my imagination. Why would anyone bring their pup anywhere near here?

"This are for a little higher rank who just sit their ass, but are very well alerted." She cross on the other two at the east and west. "And this last small one is where the Lieutenant lives." Her stomach twisted at the remembrance.

The usual campground had the sites packed in tight rows, but here they were separated by shrubs and trees, allowing much more privacy. Nice, nobody is watching you have dinner. The whole place was heavily wooded, and there were trailheads at various points. We saw some of the members at the pool and walking around. They looked like families.
