I snarl. “What is the witch’s name.” Gwen yelps again, and I can only imagine what Xander is doing to convince her to give us the information. “Maeve. Maeve Cross.” My stomach is churning with the information that she has given me. “Did you know?” I snarl at her. “Did you know that she could feel it when we were intimate.” “Yes. It was the only way we could be together, Richie. Don’t you see. If you reject her and she rejects you, then we can be together. All you have to do is accept her rejection and you’ll forget all of this, and we can finally be together.”

"Yo." She slid into the seat beside Tequila. "Did Maeve just say hi to me?" "Are you kidding me right now bro? It's me." "Maureen?" "Yes! Obviously." "You changed your hair color?" Teq asked. "Yup, I'm not a natural blonde. I'm a brunette as you can see." Maureen gestured to her hair just as Maeve walked in, a signature snarl on her face. "So how do I tell y'all apart now?"

I laughed “although I’m not sure I’m any good.” “Well, I’ve never seen a female take Beta Dean on like that, and I’ve certainly never seen anyone hurt him before either.” She shrugged. Dean certainly didn’t look like I’d hurt him, either this girl was imagining things or Dean needs to increase his pain tolerance. “I’m Maeve.” She introduced herself as she pulled on a pair of light ripped jeans and a plain wire t-shirt, making her look even more tan. “Maia.” I responded, smiling at her.

I love that she knows me so well. “Happy Birthday, my Mad troublemaker!” Maeve says with a wink as she pours my first drink for me. “What kinds of trouble have you found today?” “Thanks Maeve. Good to see you! Not much trouble yet. Breakfast with the parents and grandparents. A great relaxing mountain ride on my pink lady. A few sky dives with Hunter to get my blood and adrenaline pumping. Now, I’m here, looking for my trouble. Think you can accommodate?” I answer with a mischievous smile. Maeve smiles back.

I waited until I received a reply before walking in. Unknown number: We can chat after your visit. I headed inside as I waited in line, once my turn was up I looked at the guard, “I’m here to see Darren Spencer, my name is Kay Reid.” That was not how I thought I would use my married name for the first time. She wrote it out, then she looked at me. “Are you related to Bethany Reid?” I nodded, “She’s my sister in law, she’s been a bit hard to track down the last year, I was hoping Darren could help me out.”

I crouched down into a pounce, ready to shift at any moment. Maddox rushed into the room, visibly shaken. His eyes scanned across the bed and then landed on me. "MAEVE! WHAT IS IT, WHATS WRONG?" His eyes continued to to dart around the room trying to find the hidden danger. My shoulders slumped in relief when I saw him. 'It was just a dream Maeve, you're safe.' Freyja confirmed in my mind. I ran over to Maddox and jumped into his arms with my legs wrapped around his waist. I planted frenzied kisses all over his face and the rested my nose into his neck inhaling his scent deeply.
