Chapter 72: over-the-top h@rny THIRD PERSON POV The smell of grilled burgers and smoky barbecue filled the backyard as Gavin and his teammates gathered around a makeshift cornhole setup. Two wooden boards sat across from each other, each with a hole near the top, ready to test their accuracy. The team had decided to hold a cornhole tournament. “You guys ready to lose?” Shawn taunted, twirling a beanbag between his fingers. Gavin smirked. “Big talk for someone who barely made it last time.”

She lowered her voice carefully. "Have you thought of any plan yet?" I stayed quiet for a moment before finally nodding slowly. "Actually... yes." Nina immediately looked interested. "What is it?" I leaned closer slightly. "They've been planning the next bike cast tournament." Nina blinked. "The underground race thing?" I nodded. "I heard Damon and Colt talking about it yesterday. A lot of people are going to attend. Security is going to be messy because everybody will be focused on the tournament." Nina slowly started understanding where I was going with this.

Each year there's a class that takes care of the preps and this year, it was mine. Although we could bring family, it was majorly a teenage party and we could invite friends. well for sure it was not a masquerade ball or prom; just a small party they kept it as casual as possible with good vibes, music, drinks and snacks. This year it was held at the stadium because it coincided with the triumph of the season of our basketball team .

Good thing they haven't talked and gossip about it anymore. It will be a Christmas vacation this coming few weeks and there will be an acquaintance party to be held at our campus. Next year, the first month will be held the basketball tournament between our school and the other school's team. It might be crowds for their students are welcomed to witness the competition. There will be so much things to do. I took a deep breathe and stared at my phone. I don't know why, I just want to. I made a wacky pose, I feel like I am beautiful today.

"While the other teams are competing for third place, The Braves Club and The Fire Team should please head back to their waiting room and start practising as their tournament will begin in an hour!" "I felt amused that you mention that. There was an announcement on the portal five minutes ago. The tournament is no longer a regional qualifier anymore. They have invited the National Scouts with experienced recruiters from every Ivy League program. They will be in the stands watching you, Avery."
