Dad brushed his hair. "But you said if I become old, fatty and UGLY! TO TELL YOU, LEANDRO, I WILL NEVER BE UGLY!" Mom shouted in anger. "Okay, okay. I was wrong to use my words and didn't say it the way you can understand it. Honey...you supposed to feel butterflies on your stomach." Das was problematic. "What?! Who the hell could feel butterflies in her stomach if you told her she's ugly, old and fatty? Are you crazy?!" Mom was sarcastic as hell.

"Sorry, mom but I got distracted." "Did you see some lovely birds up there?" she asks. "Oh yes there is definitely a lovely bird up there." "Oh, what type?" "The female type." Annabel’s voice was sharp with anger. Mom’s eyes blazed with fury as tears welled up in response to Annabel’s harsh words. "You silly person!" Mom spat. "You rejected your true mate to steal your own cousin’s mate right after she died… Have you no shame? You were never meant to be a Luna! Nyra was! Not you!! You will never be Luna to me! Mommy had never missed her birthday before and Danielle had never considered that she would this year. She knew Mommy was busy and had even accepted the fact that mommy couldn't be with her all the time like she used to before but her birthday...that was different-she wanted mommy there. She sat up and looked at her mother, “she gave us her power, her gifts, I felt it.” Her Nonna spoke, “she didn’t give it to you, the moon goddess gave you what she wanted you to have, each of you,” she looked around the room and smiled wide at Brooklyn, “you sweet girl always remember how much your Bisnonna loved you.” I remembered what we were told yesterday how Brooklyn was almost taken and her Bisnonna had shifted and guarded her with her own life. Brooklyn walked slowly over to her Momma and put her hand on Luna Charlie’s cheek, “Momma, I’m sorry I did this cause I wanted the pretty butterfly.”

You were born to be a part of the sky.” Her voice was always so soft and gentle, even as she got sicker and became croaky and hoarse, she was always so gentle. “Really mama?” “Yes, my love. If you are ever scared or lost, look up at those stars and count. That is how many people are watching out for you and on your side. I will be the first one you count.”

I open the door, “hey Brooklyn, why are you out here by yourself, are you not feeling well?” A smile forms on her face and her hand lifts, her finger points up into a tree, “that bird is trying to get her baby bird back in the nest, but the baby keeps falling out of it.” She swings her legs and her frown forms again, “do you think Momma’s ever get too tired to help their babies.”

Cherie's POV Early the next morning, I was woken up by the sounds of Aster's laughter. "Mommy, look! Daddy got this gift for me!" Aster then happily showed me his new airplane model with a huge smile on his face. Yet, I wasn't able to smile back at him. I had seen one of Stacy's maids holding that exact gift last night. I didn't say anything and just called Mitchell out to the balcony. "That was one of Stacy's presents, wasn't it?"
