Starting To Read Books Novels & Stories

It was an addiction. In the space of one week, I have finished fifteen books. Each book is as large as Oxford dictionaries. I never knew I could read so fast, I truly have been starved of the fictional world. I started to fear that I may risk emptying the royal pantry. The more I read, the hungrier I got. Perhaps I had the pregnancy for that. Or maybe both. Who knows? Louis looked at me like I was some kind of strange creature, “have you even had a bath within the past week?”

She sets me down at a table and brings over a few books. “You can get started with these,” she says. “If you’d like, you can read them here. I have a few things I’ve wanted to look up myself, if you don’t mind.” “That sounds great,” I say, lifting the cover of the first huge tome, its cover crackling slightly at the movement. “I hope I don’t ruin this one.” “It’s fine,” she says. “Most of us don’t read those often since our history is such a part of everyday life since childhood.”

_KIMBERLY_ I stared at the bookshelf in front of me and hummed in thought. Despite me coming to the nearest bookstore to buy some books, I had no idea of what books to get. I was here in hopes of finding a new hobby. I wasn't much of a reader but the internet told me that reading was a good way to pass time. Not wanting the usual experience of looking at my phone screen or laptop, I decided to buy a real life, paperback book and I felt damn proud of that idea. But here I was, at a loss of what to book to pick.

Geneveive Tessa Robert I blinked at the alarm clock and closed my eyes for the eleventh time. It was two a.m., and I was still unable to sleep. I opened my eyes and reached out for the novel chosen by the book club, an old read for me—Firestarter by Stephen King. I wondered why we had to read something like this in a book club where the majority of the members were hopeless romantics. I stared at the folded page and slowly opened it. I was still stuck in chapter eight since I started the book at the beginning of the month. Even though it was an old read, I was still finding it difficult to read it because I was distracted and worried.

I was afraid I would do something I would regret if I didn't stop thinking about it. Sighing, I went back to my study and looked at the books on the table. I had been feeling empty these days and this caused an increase in the rate I was reading books. Though I was a book worm I had increased the way I read books. Reading books was the only way I was able to calm down in situations I find myself in and see that it wasn't favorable. Sighing, I sat on the chair and glanced at the book. I was going to resume reading again.

“No, go to the house instead. I left a book in my room. You can use it to practice your reading.” Her eyes go wide. “Really?” “Yes,” I mutter. I got it from the library. There are many helpful books, even for beginners, there. As long as she remains diligent, I’ll never let her run out of study material. On my feet, I pull her up, smiling at her excitement. “You said you wanted to read without help. The book is bulky, but it should help.” Jade flushes. If we had been in the room, she might have hugged me. “Thank you, my lady. I can’t wait to read full sentences and write my name.”

I hadn't memorized where I was reading so if I wanted to continue reading it would take me some time to find where I was reading. “More interesting than me?” Alpha King curled his lips. I nodded vigorously. Alpha King didn't care about my answer. He was still very happy. “Books are just a place to record knowledge and experiences in life. If you don't have the opportunity to experience what is written in the book, then you need to read it, but if you have the opportunity to experience what is written in the book, you should put the book down and experience it for yourself, that's the right thing to do. Books are other people's experiences, their experiences are not necessarily correct." Alph

I closed the book with a gentle thud, letting out a disgruntled breath. "What's wrong?" King Karl's voice cut through the room, and I flinched, startled. I had thought he was asleep. Taking a deep breath, I made to answer. "None of the books here have any pictures." I replied, displeasure seeping into my voice. The king's gaze flickered to me, his eyes glinting in the dark. "You keep looking for picture books. Why?" he muttered, his voice low. I hesitated, feeling a flush rise to my cheeks. "That's because I don't know how to read," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.

My heart was blank emotionally towards him. “Meanwhile, I think you should get started on picking out your books before you get tired and start to sleep again, so that they can get to work,” Cain advised me and I nodded eagerly. “Yes, sure,” I said quickly, but my shoulders sagged sadly. “What’s wrong?” Cain asked. “I…I don’t know anything about books,” I admitted with a little shame. “I wouldn’t even know what to pick because the only books I know about are the ones I read in college,” I added.
