Both characters have some "bad" things about their personality. Indie is shy and she can't change that instantly, she has to work to try and be more confident and it takes time for her to open up to someone. Greyson is a controlling asshole, but that is his personality. If you don't expect Indie to suddenly become more confident then you can't expect Greyson to become the perfect guy that every girl wants. It's going to take time for BOTH of them to change.
