Chapter 3 The moment they stepped out the front door, a sudden, loud crack of thunder shook the whole sky. The clouds burst, and a massive downpour slammed into the ground. The rain fell in heavy, blinding sheets, completely soaking the perfect, neat driveway. Iris gasped, shivering from the biting cold of the wind. Riley didn’t hesitate for a second. She held her large handbag over Iris's head to block the water, and pulled a spare jacket off her own shoulders to wrap around the little girl, protecting her completely from the storm.

Then the first crack of thunder hit. BOOM. I jumped so hard the book flew out of my hands. My chest tightened. It sounded exactly like the thunder that night in Cassian’s cabin. The same low rumble, the same sharp snap right after. My breathing picked up fast. Short. I pressed a hand to my throat like that would stop it. “Shit… not now,” I whispered. My voice shook.

"Why would someone want to steal money records from a case that's already been finished?" Sofia and I looked at each other. The same terrible thought hit us both. "Because", I whispered, "someone needs to change the story. And without that book, they can." Outside, thunder rolled like a warning. The storm that had been building for weeks was finally here. And we had just lost our strongest weapon right when we needed it most. The night felt darker than ever.

Jasmine’s POV The rain had slowed down, and the thunder was not so loud anymore. I was still in the living room, curled on the couch with my favorite blanket and a fantasy romance book in my hands. I was fully inside that world, far away from the thunder outside or the weird tension in this house.

When Celine tried to shout he clasped her mouth muffling her voice and forcefully pushed her towards the forest. Fiona, Celine's inner wolf tried to fight him but Jasper, Alexander's inner wolf was more powerful than her which was making it difficult for her to fight him. Some drops of water fell on them and they saw above rain approaching and the black clouds roaring loudly announcing the storm before the rain. Heavy wind started blowing pressurizing them from moving forward but it didn't stop Alexander from taking her away.

Butler Bass's face was pale, and he gulped, Thunder is a name that sent chills down the spines of people, he had single-handedly destroyed low-ranked secret families, and he even slaughtered the people of the thunder temple, no one will believe such a mystified figure will be bickering with a woman. Thunder landed on his feet, and lightning gleamed on his body, sparkling, He approached Madam Vanessa, imposing his powerful aura over her. Madam Vanessa gritted her teeth, beads of sweat covering her forehead, as she struggled to remain standing, Butler Bass, have already dropped to his knees.

Thunderstorms overshadow the city and the lighting seems mad about this.
