Kenny's pov When the hunk of a man asked me for my name I hesitated only for a few seconds, my wolf has been screaming in my head about all four of them being my mates but I ignored her. The Blue Orchid pack's compound was a hive of activity as preparations for Aunt Caitlyn's arrival reached a fever pitch. The excitement and nervousness were palpable in the air. Aunt Caitlyn, the formidable Alpha of the Golden Forest pack, commanded respect and admiration from everyone, and her visits were always significant events. Adding to the anticipation was the arrival of Daniel Scott, the head coordinator of inter-pack relations, who had been travelling extensively, meeting with Alphas of other packs. Tomas gave a sly smile, pointed to the ground, and said with a meaningful tone, "Would you like to join me in witnessing some people getting into an embarrassing situation?" Bosco gave a light snort and said, "Not interested!" It was not that he was uninterested; he just felt that this sort of thing didn't match his lofty status.

He would never tell me his actual name, so I just called him Steve. Steve was a Vietnam veteran and had a rough go at life, especially after the war. So many years of untreated PTST, compounded with all the trauma of losing everyone and everything he knew, violence of living on the streets in a big city, all eventually left Steve suffering from paranoia. The man had the kindest heart I had ever felt, and everyone in his life still abandoned him. His sorrow when he was thrust into memories of the war still haunt me. With the guilt he felt when he talked about the lives of the innocents he couldn’t save, I knew there was no way he would have hurt anyone, much less a child.

Maximo’s look is intense as his eyes linger on my exposed thighs for a moment before he laughs a little. He grabs my hands and Santino grabs the other. I startle at the unexpected touch, heat warms up my cheeks and settles on both of my palms. “ Let’s go, Sammy, we are already late.” Santino Says as they both pull me along. A helicopter is already waiting for us outside. Maximo takes the front with the pilot, while Santino pulls me in the back with him. “You see, because of you we have to use a helicopter, I don’t want you fainting because you saw my dragon.” Santino whispers in my ear and I shiver.

Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket and all that. Brilliant flame red hair catches my eye and I know who it is before I turn. Char leans against the counter, she straightened her hair today and it falls over her breasts. Large hoop ears and a diamond hang from her ears. She’s wearing a red skirt to match her hair and shiny black heels. Char is my manager, well, she’s the only manager at Ocean Side. She can’t be older than twenty-five, but she runs a tight ship and leaves no room for error. She leans in close so I can hear her over the music.
