My Triplet Alphas
I follow it to the kitchen, where I find Steve standing by the stove, making breakfast.
I stop in the doorway, surprised. This isn’t the first time Steve has made breakfast for me, but it still catches me off guard. He looks so calm and focused, flipping pancakes like he’s done it a million times before.
“Good morning,” he says, turning to smile at me.
“Morning,” I reply softly, walking closer.
“How are you feeling?” he asks, his eyes scanning my face like he’s checking to make sure I’m okay.
“I’m fine,” I say, even though I’m not entirely sure it’s true. I force a small smile and add, “Thank you… for everything.”
