"I'm sorry but this couldn't wait!" ^^^^^^^^^^

Aaron met her eyes. He didn’t nod. He didn’t shake his head. He looked away. Later, when Mark stepped outside to take a call, Lily leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. “Do you ever feel like you’re trying to convince yourself of something?” she asked quietly. Aaron’s chest tightened. “Yes.” Her eyes opened. “What do you do about it?” He hesitated. “I wait. I see if the feeling changes.” “And if it doesn’t?” “Then I listen to it.”

Hungrier. Waiting.

"Have you heard anything from Maude yet?" Orson took a long swig. "Nope." "She's just playing hard to get. Honestly, you spoiled her way too much before. That's why she doesn't know how to value you. "Trust me, Orson. Give it two weeks. She'll be back crawling. "Only you'd still have the patience to wait for her. "My account's been blocked as well, but the old alumni group chat is still alive. I'll shake things up and get her back within two weeks."

A faint smile broke through her tear-streaked face as she whispered through her sobs, "Thank you." After that, she looked up Cameron online, then spent the next two weeks waiting outside Cameron's residential area, only for him to never appear even once. That night, Bianca was dead set on waiting for Cameron. He was a no-show as dawn broke, though, so she despondently trudged down the street, the biting wind whipping at her face. She felt no pain, though, only the suffocating pressure in her chest, as if something inside her was collapsing.
