I laugh and launch into my story, filling her in on everything I’ve experienced and how I became the Luna Queen of Oceana. It’s good to be home.

"What story do you want to share?" Eden cleared his throat dramatically, and the hall fell silent, eager to hear his words. "Once upon a time, there was a brave wolf who fought against the darkness. He was small but fierce, and he had two powerful parents who taught him how to be strong!" Laughter erupted around the table as he spun his tale, embellishing it with wild gestures and exaggerated expressions. I couldn't help but smile, feeling the warmth of love and laughter envelop me.

⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅• Katherine's laughter danced in the air, a delightful sound carried by the gentle breeze as Zayn shared the tale of his first horseback riding adventure. It was a story filled with youthful bravado and a runaway horse, depicting young Zayn being dragged upside down, his leg stuck in the stirrup, until a timely rescue saved him from what could've been an incredibly embarrassing (or even tragic) ending.

SERA The ride home from Mary's was quiet except for Luna's sleepy chatter from her car seat. She was telling us about the story Vivienne had read to her while we were all talking downstairs, her little voice getting softer as exhaustion took over. "And then the princess found her prince and they lived happily ever after," Luna mumbled, her head dropping against the side of her seat. I turned to look at her, my heart squeezing at how innocent she looked. How simple her world still was, where princesses always got their happy endings and love conquered everything.

Every little girl wants a pony and the two of them were no different. “You insisted on bringing it home, even though it snapped at you every time you tried to put your hand near its muzzle.” Pippa gives Mare a look. Probably because even at eight years old, Mare was determined to take home that mean old pony, despite all the other younger, nicer ponies that were also there.

“Okay… but a happy one, please.” “Of course.” I smiled, stroking her hair. “Once upon a time, there was a little bunny named Lily. Lily was very brave, but sometimes, she felt scared, just like you did tonight. One day, Lily got lost in the big forest, but she wasn’t alone. She had her family—her brothers, her mommy, and even her daddy—who loved her so much that they searched high and low to find her. They never stopped looking because family always sticks together.” Mika’s eyes began to droop as I continued the story, her breathing slowing into a steady rhythm. By the time Lily the bunny was safe and sound back home, Mika was fast asleep, her hand clutching her stuffed bunny.

Everly is in the barn, and I go in to find her and tell her I’m leaving, and she should head in to start helping Aunt Kim with dinner. “Okay,” Everly says and goes to Thor’s stall. The pony flattens his ears and turns away from her. “Hey, little dude.” She undoes the latch on his door and slides it open a few inches but doesn’t step inside. “You’re going to be my friend by the time we leave.” “Just remember ponies are the OG creators of Little Man syndrome,” I say, swinging keys to Aunt Kim’s truck around my fingers. Everly laughs and turns away from Thor to look at me. “Oh, I remember. I learned how to ride on Star, and she was a chestnut mare and a Welsh pony.”

"Dylan!!!!!!!!!" My mum shouts from downstairs ,I jump down, we are werewolves and I got my wolf when I was fifteen.
