When I turned back to him with my pants shielding the unclothed portion of my body from view, the doctor had gotten up and had his back to me.
Quickly, I pulled my panties on, followed by my snug-fitting jeans. As I shimmied them over my ass, he turned his head enough to speak over his shoulder, but not actually look at me, and said, "I'm sorry." The words hung in the air as though he had something else to say, but instead, his shoulders sank. "I'll wait for you in the hall."
I finished dressing and met him on the other side of the door. I didn't have a clue what to say after that odd interaction. Thankfully, he saved me from saying anything.
