Summer Ends Novels & Stories

Monday was a perfect pool day. After the rain on Sunday, the sun had came back out in full force for what some of the old timers around town called “Indian Summer”. It’s apparently a time in late fall, usually October or November, when Mother Nature decides that summer is not quite over and hits us with one more blast of hot weather before we have true fall and then the first hints of winter. It was ninety degrees by noon so after finishing a late breakfast and playing some basketball with Nate in the gym inside the large building called the pool house, we switched gears and climbed in the pool.

Seventeen-year-old Jake is sent to the quiet coastal town of Ashford Cove to spend the summer with his aunt while attending summer school to make up his English and biology grades. Hoping for a fresh start, he never expects to meet Sarah—a teenage vampire with lots of secrets. When Jake discovers Sarah's true nature, he accepts her for who she is, and an unlikely friendship begins to grow. But when Sarah learns that Jake is a werewolf, everything changes. Raised to believe that werewolves and vampires are sworn enemies, she declares him her enemy. As the two turn against each other, a far more dangerous evil begins to emerge from the shadows, leaving chaos in its wake across Ashford Cove.

It was my life’s work…my blood. “You want my advice?” “No. But you’ll give it to me anyway.” “Your job has brought you the worst agony you’ve ever known. Yes, there’s good stuff like money, power, and enemies’ bloodshed, but for the most part, it’s fucking stressful. Sofia and Andrew have only brought you joy. I think the answer is pretty obvious.” Summer had ended, and now it was late September. Toward the end of the month was when things started to change. Leaves turned from green to red, and the humidity slowly turned into fog. Fall had arrived, bringing crisp days with sunshine.

Beatrice said in a low tone and Maria screamed again. "I'm 101% sure you haven't checked your email, girl, we are at the top already!" She screamed and Beatrice still couldn't understand her words properly. "Maria Sebastian, talk to me calmly like a reasonable person" Beatrice said in a cold low tone as she was pinching her eyebrows in frustration. "I checked my mail today and I found out, the school has given us a year cut off, as a prize for being the best student of the year over our seniors. So, if we resume next week, we are among the finalist, just one session left and we are done with school"

The time before school starts is always my favorite time of year. Apollo is going to be a senior next week, and then he’s headed to college. This summer felt different because I knew change was coming. This was my last summer with him at home, and I’ve spent as much time as possible soaking it up.

Summer calmly explained. James fell silent briefly. He had a clear understanding of Summer's character and recognized her as someone who was ambitious, independent, and reluctant to seek help. After some contemplation, he relented. "Alright, I won't offer help, but you must inform me if you need anything." "Okay, I'll remember that," Summer replied. With that, she successfully declined his offer. Subsequently, she said she would be busy for the foreseeable future, implying she wouldn't be returning home early.

# FLASHBACK It was summer, one of the four Earth's seasons, that goes after spring and foreshadows Autumn. Kevin glanced at the trees bearing fruits and feels Summer is the best season ever. The warmth and everything make it perfect. No wonder most families like to go on vacation during summer. He went back to the mirror for the umpteenth time checking himself out again. He was dressed in a checkered shirt themed with a pair of blue jeans and black shoes. His mind kept beating fast, trying not to lose his focus on one of the important things he wanted to do today. He noticed a little pimple on the upper part of his head and that alone makes him feel he is not perfect.

SSHS 163 Summer break was something the students often look forward to, as it is when they get to relax without even thinking of school. To relax with their families, friends and even relationship partners. It is a joyous time for them indeed. But then again, things have come to an end. Many of the students were catching their flight back to their houses since the school will start in less than a week, and they have yet to complete all of the requirements they need: new set of uniforms (since some of them had a growth spurt), then the school supplies and other things.

I think it’s time to turn on the air conditioning. While the windows rolled up, I quickly turned on the A/C to the highest intensity and sped off. Luckily this time, I didn’t almost hit anyone. It took only a few minutes and we were taking the turn I was looking forward to. They described the environment to be a neighborhood hidden between tamed forest trees. But all I was seeing for now were just trees that were shedding all their red, orange and yellow leaves to the autumn. I kept going anyway, Claire did mention I would see at least two coffee shops before seeing homes and she was right.

The eyes were full of hope and determination, and the only thing that he could remember before he woke up. A chill shoot through his body as he shivered in his bed. It's only the first week of Spring, maybe he shouldn't be sleeping with his shirt off just yet, but the anticipation for summer was simply killing him. Eating him from the side. The son of Helios loved summer. Obviously. He was used to the heat and warmth. A smile curled his lips as he was aware that the summer was going to be a good one—he can feel it maybe because most of his mischievous and loud half-siblings were gone back home to their mother's place.
