The summer came to Asterveil like a held breath finally released. Clara had never experienced summer in this world—not really. She had arrived in autumn, survived winter, watched spring unfold in fits and starts. But summer was new. Summer was the season of fullness, of blooming, of things reaching their peak before the slow turn toward autumn.

“This is exactly what I needed. Ari, we have to survive this summer, chaos and all.” I laugh, treading water beside her. “Survive… yeah. I think we can handle it.” And Gavin? He keeps swimming beside us, quiet, controlled, with just enough presence to remind me that summer isn’t just about chaos. It’s about currents, about tides, and maybe… about noticing someone without even trying. Finally, dripping and laughing, we climb out of the water, shivering slightly as the sun dips lower behind us. Her thoughts meshed into one another like different colours splattered and mixed on a palette— messy and ugly. The elderly couple had gone to work, leaving food and keys. Liam had said to call them if she needed them. Summer wanted to get up, do something productive, but she simply did not have the energy to do anything. She felt tired, yet sleep evaded her. --**--

I say as I take out a fresh outfit. "Yeah, sure. Next time we are going to the Hamptons, and please next time I drink don't let me make any plans. Otherwise, we might go hiking next time." I laugh as I put my hair in a ponytail. "Duly noted. So how are things with Anthony? Don't think I didn't notice the two of you intertwining fingers as we watched the movie." Summer blushed as she went to close the door and then leaned against it. "I know it hasn't been long but I really like him." She says with a big smile on her face. "I think about him all the time, his black hair and those big brown eyes, and those lushes lips. And the way he smells..."

Remembering that she left her phone in the next tent, Summer immediately jumped out. "That must be Mommy and Daddy! They want to tell me that they're on the cruise ship!" The others rushed to follow her. When they arrived at the next tent, Summer was already sitting cross-legged with her phone pressed to her ear. "Mommy, Daddy! Have you arrived at the cruise ship?" "Hello, Honey. Isn't it still early there? Why are you so excited?" Sky asked. "Because I knew today would be a fun day, Mommy. Just like yesterday. I had a great time here. I did a lot of experiments with River. Then, we all gathered in the backyard. I, River, Uncle Brandon, and Aunt Briony slept in a tent."

Checks the time 'Sh*t it's already six thirty'. Summer had begun and all of the neighborhood kids took advantage of every bit of daylight that shined. As soon as the sun come up you could hear the ATV's rummble from inside the house. Blacking out her windows to get some sleep during the daylight hours had done its job but there was nothing she could do about the noise disturbing her rest. She remembered what it was like to be a child. Carefree. Happy. Endless summer days with friends. That isn't something she dared ruin for them. Besides her salted caramel java monster would pep her up in no time.

all there invited guest had returned to their home. it was 7:30 pm already, the Adams family set to take there leave. jasper and Benjamin were lightly drunk. since Benjamin doesn't fancy the service of domestic worker except for Franca who has been Niyola's Nanny from birth.
