Summer Reads 2023 Novels & Stories

This time Summer looked away. She spent the majority of the day in her room doing nothing. Her thoughts meshed into one another like different colours splattered and mixed on a palette— messy and ugly. The elderly couple had gone to work, leaving food and keys. Liam had said to call them if she needed them. Summer wanted to get up, do something productive, but she simply did not have the energy to do anything. She felt tired, yet sleep evaded her. --**--

Okay so in the story I haven’t mentioned how the main characters look. So here are their physical descriptions just to give you a heads up. :) Summer: 17 years old. Dark brown short hair, She wears glasses (not always, only when she plays video games or uses the computer) Pale skin. Average height. Brown eyes. She isn’t overweight nor shes thin.. she somewhere in the middle. you know curvy. :p tomboy. Ginger: 17 years old. Orange-Ginger long hair, she is fair, thin. She also has glasses. blue eyes. She's like the cute nerd.

she replies, smiling. Oh, wow, that went better than I thought it would, “Promise? You aren’t just saying that?” I question, “Promise. We are on the same page.” She answers. I instantly relaxed, knowing we were thinking the same, for now, but there was a chance my recent thoughts would reappear, but I will just continue to fight them for the rest of our time because after the summer, we go back to our lives and possibly not see each other. “What do you want to do today?” I ask, “Or do you want to write some more?” I added.

The events of that year had been brought up again, and they could even file a case. After the police sat down, they asked, "Can you tell me when your child was aborted?" "August 9th, 2017," I replied, my voice trembling. There was no way I could ever forget the agony that day. I then recounted the events, and the statement was quickly taken down. Whilst leaving the police station, I encountered Elise, who had been brought in. She was wearing pajamas, her hair disheveled and even streaked with gray. She looked utterly haggard and was completely devoid of her former radiance.

Aria answered, “Well they are here for me and I will give them a show,right Summer” Summer grinned as Scar settled into the car. The gate was slowly opened, “Now,drive” Summer grinned and evil glint in her eyes as she drove forward,the car gaining speed per second,the reporters screamed, diving out of the way,as they drove past like a wind. “Woo hoo” Summer screamed as they drove down the road. “That was so cool” She exclaimed, “Should we go back and do it again” She asked clearly hyped up. “Don't worry the case is just starting,we will be meeting more,there might be a fight soon”

Anna and I stood only inches from the edge of the rooftop. From where John stood, it must have looked like I was holding a knife to her throat. Anna suddenly leaned closer and let out a malicious chuckle. “Relax, I’ve got one more gift for you.” As soon as she said that, a swarm of reporters flooded the area below. They raised their cameras and microphones, shouting questions. “Ms. Summer, before you married Mr. Shaw, did you hide the fact that you had been assaulted?” “Ms. Summer, you’ve had no children for all these years. Is that because the assault left you with lasting complications?”

Sutburg was filled with flowers in spring, petals flying toward us in the wind, pink, white, and many other colors. Some flowers landed on my shoulder, and I thought to myself that I had made it through winter. And finally, my spring was here.

“And that's how you get the job done, Sum.” Summer looked at me. “We should form an acapella group,” she said, going serious. “You're really good with the whole high pitching thing.” I chuckled. “Focus on your babysitting skills first, Sum. Then we'll talk.” She chuckled. “You know, I think you're going to be a great mom someday,” she said, patting my back. “Don't ask. I just know it. And I'm never wrong about these things.” I smiled down at Charlotte who was having a saliva party.

he said quietly before casually grabbing an apple from the fruit rack, as if he hadn’t just turned my world upside down. I clenched my fists. This summer was going to be hell.
