A hand grasped my arm and for half a second, I fought it with all my power thinking it was another Eater. I allowed the hand to help me up and gave Tom a grateful look as I settled on my shaky legs. I turned back to the Soul Eater and saw that it was starting to stand up again. Before I could do anything to incapacitate it, a gun came into view and the next thing I knew Tom stopped the creature with a shot to the head. The light gleamed off of the worn-down furniture and the porcelain dishes. Tamashi noticed that his brother’s eyes gleamed in the sunlight. He also had dark blue eyes, but unlike Tamashi, he had dirty blonde hair. Tamashi smiled. “Yeah, I promise. I’m Tamashi, and I always will be. I’m going to find a way to get out of this mess.” Yasa smiled in reply. “Alright, lil bro, I’ll remember that promise. Esme's POV Peaceful. Ethereal. So this is what death feels like. After falling off the cliff and into the river, I had sunk deep into dangerous waters. I shifted back to my human form somewhere in between, Solar was injured and needed to recharge. I just kept drifting away from the surface, little by little, the surface seeming too far to reach. "Esme! Esme!" I heard someone call my name. It was a faint sound, one I couldn't recognize but there was a distinct sound of sorrow to it. It felt……familiar.

She stood there, tears streaming down her face, gazing at us. Zion surged forward, leaving Esmeray behind. 'Do me a favor and let Mordax and Kitana know I'm alive. I'll return for all of you after I've dealt with this,' I communicated to Esmeray through our mindlink. 'If you die out there, I'll never forgive you.' I chuckled softly.
