he said. Tessa nodded. “Sure, no problem, Alpha. The kitchen workers sent up some bath salts that should help. They're infused with lavender.” “That sounds nice,” Leo said. “Do you like lavender?” He'd noticed she mostly smelled like citrus, nothing flowery. Was it her soap, or the cleaning supplies she used? “Not really, it makes me sneeze,” Tessa admitted. “I prefer vanilla. I keep a little pocket of vanilla infused cotton balls under my pillow.”

I heaved a sigh of relief when Aiden left me and sat down. “You. Why are you still standing?” The teacher asked. I realized he was talking to me. “Oh, uhm…” “She’s new,” the blond girl that had warned me of Aiden said. She stood up and led me to the only other empty seat in the class which was two rows in front of the Aiden’s row. “Welcome to Summer Valley High,” the teacher said coldly. Luka, Jeremiah, and Adriel crammed their massive frames into the very back row, leaving the spacious middle row for me, Novalee, and Nina. As Ian started the engine and the tyres crunched over the gravel, Novalee handed me a thermos. "Drink this. It is the herbal blend I prepared yesterday. It stabilizes the nerves." I took a sip of the warm, soothing tea, leaning my head against the cool glass of the window as the trees of the estate began to blur past. The silence in the car was comfortable, but my mind was spinning with questions about our new allies. I leaned forward, tapping Treasure on her shoulder. "Hey, Treasure. Can I ask you something personal?"

It tastes good.” Anthony’s lips curled up at her praise. “I’m glad you like it.” Glad she liked it? As if sensing something, Charmine felt a surge of warmth in her heart. Anthony made this tea himself. He, the high-above Boss Bailey, hand-brewed the tea for her…

Something that Brayden was endlessly smug about, cooing about how she was a “proper little lady with superior taste.” ‎“You’re creating a snob.” I told him, rinsing a tiny spoon while Claire slapped both palms on the counter for more. ‎“It’s called culture.” He said. “One day she’ll thank me.” ‎“One day a preschool teacher is going to call me and say she is judging her classmates’ beverage choices.” ‎”As she should.” Brayden said, unrelenting. “Tea is the superior beverage.”

Sencha tea, a Japanese green drink made uniquely, is steamed and then rolled and dried. The nose that had smelled the aroma of tea turned into cinnamon, and the smell of pine trees was getting more and more dominant. Rena strengthened her resolve until the hand holding the spoon clenched into fists. "Rena," someone called from behind. Rena swallowed her saliva and washed the spoon clean. It was as if she had not heard who had just greeted her. "What are you doing?" asked the man, trying to approach Rena. Rena suddenly moved away and looked into those eyes but only a moment later saw the lightning flash on the black bead. "Tea for Luna."
