“You were never cursed. You were only…unseen.”
That sentence shattered something inside me. My breath trembled. My hands shook slightly. And before I could stop myself, a tear rolled down my cheek. I wiped it quickly, embarrassed, but Ronin did not look away. He did not mock me. He did not pretend he didn’t notice.
Instead, he stepped even closer.
“You don’t have to be ashamed of tears,” he said quietly. “Tears do not mean weakness. Tears mean you have endured.”
