Terry Pratchett Talking Books Novels & Stories

I took a seat on the sofa once again, noticing the tray of sandwiches on the end table and my stomach grumbled, I hadn’t eaten much lunch and had been walking for hours. “Help yourself to food.” Peter suggested, motioning in the direction of the tray as he poured out two cups of tea. “Did you read through any of the book?” “Some, I read the chapters on Primogentius and some of the descriptions on the races.” “Okay, and what do you think so far? It occurred to me after you left that perhaps this may be too much information too fast.”

At that exact moment, aboard a private jet already hundreds of miles away, a shrill warning sound suddenly rang in Lucien’s ear. [Warning! Warning! The novel’s female protagonist has died. World collapse is imminent.] Lucien’s eyes widened in shock.

For a second, I’m tempted, but then another wave of heat erupts in my chest, and I lose my nerve. “Tell me about the other books,” I say instead. “The other books?” I nod. And as I tuck my knees to my chest and wind my free arm around my knees, breathing through the stuffiness that’s getting more unbearable by the minute, I listen to the most garbled plot summaries I’ve ever heard in my entire life. “Okay. See, there’s this one with a man and his nephew. And they journey to the center of the earth. And there are dinosaurs. And a tornado? Shit—” The brow furrows again. “It might have been a tsunami. Something like that.”
