I asked, my voice low and measured, though every word carried the sharp edge of my fury. The scout hesitated, his eyes flickering to the floor as if the answer itself would earn my wrath. “The rogue, Alpha,” he said finally, his voice trembling. “Silas.” The name hit me like a blow. Silas. The disgraced Alpha, the outcast who had abandoned his own pack and left chaos in his wake. The Alpha’s anger ebbed slightly, reassured that his daughter was in her mate’s care. “Good. Her mate will look after her.”
