The more I look through the book the more confused I become by the first few pages. The sharp contrast between the image of impending danger for the child to the full out war are like two sides of a coin. As I look over the images of the war I find myself going back and forth through the pages trying to make sense of what I’m seeing. What was the cause? Why did this war break out? I couldn’t help but find myself transfixed on the images of each page. The image while gruesome, we also hauntingly gorgeous and well done.
