“What's wrong with him?” “Is he angry?” “He must be really scared if he's running away like that.” One of the soldiers clicked his tongue. “Well, our Air Warfare Commander has already lost before the match even started. What are we supposed to do now?” But there was one person who did not see it that way. That person was Henry Corwell, the Deputy General of War, who had been observing the entire scene. He let out a quiet sigh. “I never expected the two of you to become that close.”

However, Grace and Xander had no intention of leaving. "Xander, Grace, what's the deal? What are you up to?" Callum couldn't help but ask. Xander didn't answer, but Grace chimed in, "Have you ever read 'The Art of War'?" Callum looked puzzled. "What does that have to do with anything?" Grace shook her head and sighed. "You should read it when you're free. It might give you some insight." Callum was even more baffled. "Xander, what does that mean?"

The more I look through the book the more confused I become by the first few pages. The sharp contrast between the image of impending danger for the child to the full out war are like two sides of a coin. As I look over the images of the war I find myself going back and forth through the pages trying to make sense of what I’m seeing. What was the cause? Why did this war break out? I couldn’t help but find myself transfixed on the images of each page. The image while gruesome, we also hauntingly gorgeous and well done. But they needed some of the text to help answer some of my questions.

When I turn around I have about five books in hand. “Are you going to read all that?” “Of course,” I don’t have much time between training and being with friends these days but I’ll make time.

I also prayed earnestly that he didn’t forget me here. I spotted a bookshelf at the far end of the room and decided to look through it in hopes of finding something to read. The majority of the books were about werewolves and the pack’s history. There were also books about politics, war, and governance. I would have loved to pick up the book that contained information on all members of the Crescent Moon Pack, but I decided against it. It would seem like snooping. I finally settled on a book titled ‘The Art of War.’ Not that I was a fan of violence but I was curious to know why the author had referred to war as an art. It was such a controversial claim.

“How to build leverage. Read people. Find cracks in their masks.” He studied her for a long moment. Then he stood and walked to a nearby bookshelf, pulling down a thin, worn book. He handed it to her. “The Art of War.” “Elara,” he said, voice calm, “there are rules to this kind of war. And the first is understanding that most battles are won before they’re ever fought.” She took the book, her fingers tracing the faded cover. “Then I better start reading.” That night, as she sat curled up in the corner of her new room, flipping through chapters of Sun Tzu, she didn’t feel like a victim anymore.

He just wanted to spend his time in prison reading. “What’s my problem? Are you blind? Can’t you see that I am playing basketball? Seeing you reading here really affected my vibes,” Trent said unreasonably. He then looked at the book on the floor and sneered, “My, my, Sun Tzu’s Art of War. Looks like someone is educated. What are you going to do with it? Lead an army into war? We are now living in a high tech era. This book is way out of date, idiot.”
